Back in 1989 I did a 4-day marathon drive from Alaska through the Yukon Territory and northern BC to get to Washington State and back (2300 miles one-way). I remember some of the gas prices in the more remote stops along the Alcan Highway were approaching highway robbery as they were the only place you could stop for gas for 100 or so miles, if not longer, also remember the confusion of converting liters to gallons and kilometers to miles......I suck at math, even when I'm cold sober.
