TOPIC: NOSTRADAMUS release
[mother popcorn] Tuesday, June 24, 2008 1:26:45 PM
As much as I admire and respect the optimism being conveyed here, I have to respectfully disagree... I simply can't rationalize this release whatsoever...

We're talking about KK Downing and Glenn Tipton here... Where are the guitars? Where's the edge? As soon as I opened the booklet and saw "guitar synths" my heart sank... All I'm hearing is watered down guitar tones...buried in the mix...

A double CD, and all they can muster is a few tracks with any teeth whatsoever...

I give them high marks for trying to create something that is as ambitious as this, and far different than anything they've ever done...but the bottom line for me is this. This is not what I want to hear from Judas Priest...

First and foremost, I have to be honest with myself... In doing so, I have to admit that I'm as disappointed with this release as I could possibly be. I'm sorry I feel this way, but saying anything else would be less than truthful...

Guitar synths, plodding slow-tempo songs throughout both discs, and an overabundance of atmospheric keyboards... Sorry fellas...but Nostradamus is DOA...

I'm sure I'll receive more than a fair share of criticism, but know that I've simply expressed my true feelings...
