Yeah, that whole "your not a fan" stuff is bullshit. In all honesty, I didn't think I was going to like it and I ended up diggin' it big time. There are a couple of tracks that I could do without, but all in all I like it. That does NOT mean that I'm any bigger or better a fan than anyone else. If I didn't like it, I'd be saying that. Immaturity is exactly what it is. Many of the people who talk so tough were not even born when I started listening to Priest. I will never officially "ignore" anyone, as I don't believe in doing so, but I won't put much stock in their opinions. Ass kissing is not an admirable trait in anyone. I'd much prefer to hear an opinion that disagrees with mine rather than one that is just what I want to hear. Very true and I knew it wouldn't be British Steel etc. But I just don't think it's worked. I can see what they were getting at, but it is really in need of some serious paring down. Don't get me wrong there are some cracking songs there - but it's padded out with "rock opera" fills.
I can't believe the venom from the "Priest Stalinists" who are pouring out contempt to forum members who have dared pass a negative opinion. "If you don't like it, you're not a fan" and all that immature bullshit.

It's a tough listen. You first have to get your head around the whole "concept" idea and listen to it like a story, not a headbanging session. If you didn't like "Operation Mindcrime", you definitely won't like this. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaay more heady and requires a lot more from the listener. The songs on Mindcrime could stand alone. Some songs on Nostradamus can, but are much better in context. Some people got into "Tommy" and some didn't. That didn't mean that any one of them wasn't a Who fan.
