Topsy turvy! You sure 'bout that? OPENED with it? They closed with it when they opened for Priest here in the States. They opened Priest with Wake up Dead / Hook in Mouth / Hangar 18.
Closed with it. Played it after Holy Wars and Peace sells at the end. My low-point, actually. That is why I remember it so well. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Monday, September 08, 2008 10:23:53 PM)

Agreed. But how 'bout Anarchy in the UK by Megadeth? They used to close with it all the time. www.youtube.com/watch

Ya know, I DO have a thought (happens every now and again) about it. Hearing Helter Skelter by Motley Crue today. Made me think of JUST that thought. IMO, they made it their own. Did a fine job of it but didn't stray far from the original.

ok, what makes a great cover song?
IMO a great cover song needs to be recognizable as a cover, but not the same. listened to some Iron maiden cover today (forget who, doing Rime...) and it sucked. sounded like they were trying to sound exactly the same. if they succed in sounding the same, then whats the point, if they fail, then they fail.
never heard fleetwood mac's Green manalishi, but, priest hit it well with Diamonds, and jonny be goode. changed, but similar, yet their own.
