I so agree with everything you guys (devils_child, scorpion01, Deep Freeze) said. About giving things a chance, not giving in to trends or people, about how people today seem focused on very shallow things like appearances. I too feel like an "old fogie" at 42. I much prefer yesterdays music to todays music. I'm more interested in whether a singer can sing, what they're singing about, the lyrics, the instrumentation, than listening to someone scream into the microphone while their "band" kills your ears.
I've also been told that I'm shy but when I'm with the right people who get me, I am far from shy. I guess it's just a matter of where you feel comfortable. These days I really don't have many friends either and my best friend, my fiance, recently died so.......
Thanks for saying some of the things I was thinking and letting me know I'm not alone.

I feel like in a way i'm forced to listen to older bands, and albums because whats on offer currently from newer bands just lacks depth, unless anyone can suggest anything? And not any of those bands who just cut and copy riffs and lyrics from the legends and sell it as their own.. oh and having a vocalist who sings is good too.. i hate that screaming / growling crap.
