Did it have the dual range 5 speed tranny(aka10 speed),or the standard 5? Awesome bike either way!! They made for some fierce drag bikes!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by hellion1969 from Saturday, October 18, 2008 5:37:07 PM)

It`, was the CB 900 (late eighties)! Old trusty war horse! A bit outdated now but very fond memories!

Memory not serving me well here ,was the 900-Boldor the CB 900 (late 80`s) or the CBR 900RR (Fireblade)here in the states?

OUCH! I remember all to well the taste of tar coming off a Honda 900-Boldor doing 150k`s per hour and then the subsequent mourning as I beheld the wreck that use to be my pride and joy! Thankfully after much rehabilitation I can tell this tale! I nearly didn`t walk away from that one!

Yea,the Sprint`s are awesome,my first one lost a battle with gravity at 80 mph with me aboard!! Then my second neeted me 3 speeding tickets in 18 months,so I had to make a achange to something more docile!! But this Trophy is deceptively fast!!

I have to agree! the Trumpys have a certain pizazz about them! My boss rides a Trumpy sprint and might I add.......VERY NICE PIECE OF MACHINERY!

Wow! Thanks to all of you for the cool comments ,I truly appreciate them.
The Trophy is a 1200cc inline four cylinder,it was discontinued in 2003,but there are rumors of a replacement in the works. Triumph called this color Sunset Red,but most everyone else calls it Maroon!!
The Rocket 3`s are a beast, but handle better than any 2.3 (no mis-type there) liter motorcycle should be allowed. The Thunderbirds are great,I have ridden one before. This is my 3rd Triumph,I had 2 Sprint ST`s before this.
The Daytona`s for 09 are going to be even better than the previous models with a host of refinements aimed at the racetrack. They should be hiting the dealers about now.
The Bonneville`s are something that I was urprised that Triumph didn`t bring back when they first got back into biz back around 1990,very cool bikes, nothing quite like a new retro model .
like I said in the post ,it is a freight train rolling, amazingly stable at any speed and handles very well for a touring bike. It may not be the most beautiful or the coolest bike out there, but it does what it should in and then some!!!!
