Oh yeah! It's a beautiful instrument.. only thing is that it is a bit heavy to hold compared to some of the newer guitars on the market. I'm hoping to pass it onto my son one day when he's old enough to appreciate the history behind it. My dad always wanted a son, he even named me Joelene because he was so convinced I was going to be a boy that he wanted to call me "Joe" but I er.. how shall we say, came out missing some vital bits (lol) so in a moment of madness he just put the "lene" on the end and proceeded to call me "Joe" until his dying day... maybe that's why I've never minded anyone shortening my name.. come to think of it, I can hardly remember anybody calling me by my fulll name for the longest time.. I'm hoping that if Zakk gets this strat one day when he's old enough, it would sort of be like giving him a part of my dad... is that wierd or does it make sense to anyone? MG: Well, I've been begging them to come here.. and I guess I'll keep on until either they arrive or I die lol...
On a positive note: I have this ancient fender starburst that used to belong to my dad; I was always embarrased to play it in company because it was kinda old and er... I was a stuck up teen lol... so it got neglected and a week ago I finally pulled it out and sent it in for repairs.. It's come back and a mate of mine has plugged it in and he's fallen in love with it. The guys at the music store who did the repair say it's a classic and my dad made some mods to it so it's unique in its own way.. hehehehehehe.. It has these switches on it that gives it rate and chorus so it's pretty cool... I broke the whammy bar off during one wild night about 15 years back lol.. It's been through some rough times but I'm glad she's finally getting the recognition she deserves.. wonder if my dad can hear her playing from beyond.. God, on nights like this I miss the guy!
