That is true enough HB, but if you know anything about American History, you will note that the job of president does require action from time to time. I mean, if we take a lesson from John Adams we can see that "non interference" is not always the best idea. 

If you recall, Adams did not want to get into the middle of  the British/French war.  Of course, our trading partners went NUTS!!!! And here in the US, half the country wanted to fight the French and the other half the British!  Non interference did not work! Then later, when Britain started grabbing our ships, James Madison decides to declare war on Britain and what happened? ... we got our behinds kicked in the War of 1812!!!  Had it not been for Jefferson at New Orleans, we might very well have been burned to the friggin ground by the British!!! Seriously! Madison got his butt  run out of the White House by the British and they burned it down!!

My point in all of this is, we cannot just decide to sit back and do nothing. Just as I said yesterday! What would happen if we did nothing? If we kept to ourselves and sealed up the country?? I'm afraid Monroe is not available to sail across the ocean amd make peace for us any longer!
