Lets get the record straight here, OK. Ripper was asked to join the band by Downing and Tiption. Its not like he was begging to try out for the vocal position, They saw how talented he was and invited him over for an audition. They were so impressed by his voice he was hired on the spot. Now if you want to bash Ripper you're also bashing the decisions of Tiptopn and Downing and the band in general. Bah, shake your little finger all you want, I'm entitled to my opinion just like everyone else is on here. I don't care for Owens as a vocalist, i'll say he makes good use of what talent he has. For me everytime i hear him singing, in Beyond Fear, Priest or Iced Earth, he always sounds like the most successful rip off of Halford there ever was. So many bands in the 80's went for the Halford esq vocals that it was annoying. Rob is the only one (IN MY OPINION!......YES OPINION...YOU NO THAT LITTLE THING THAT EVERYONE HAS?) who can pull off the high octave voice. Everyone else just sounds to similar to me, thats the way my ears take it. Like it or continue to shake your little finger at those who share their honest opinion. What i find messed up is this guy living in the shoes of Rob Halford, trying to be the guy. How the hell could you have the nerve to say " oh ya i could front Judas Priest and replace THE METAL GOD." Its blashpheous. I really don't think Halford holds him highly either. He always refers to him as Mr. Owens.
