Although I agree with you in regards to Creatures and maybe Destroyer ( dont know Carnival, was that after the makeup ) I will side with HB and say that Kiss was more show business than anything.   The overwhelming majority of their tunage prior to Creatures was mediocre but it didnt matter.  Kiss was a live band and will always be.  Their gimmick is the stage.  You cant see that makeup listening to a CD.  You have to be at the show.  And they put on a hell of a show.  Some of their early tunes were great.  Parasite, Cold Gin, 100000 Years, She.  All good tunes but She was a direct rip off of a Doors tune!!!!!
