Carnival was actually released in 95, but then the reunion got in the way and the band released it again in 1997. Really great stuff. Gene's songwriting and singing were his best ever I think.
Side Note: Because of the reunion, Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer were kinda left hung out to dry. Kulick went on to form a nice outfit called Union Underground with John Corabi. Last I saw, Bruce took over as Grand Funk Railroad's guitarist and Eric was playing Peter Criss' part on the drums. So ends your Kisstory lesson for today class...Quiz tomorrow!!!! The overwhelming majority of their tunage prior to Creatures was mediocre but it didnt matter. Kiss was a live band and will always be. Their gimmick is the stage. You cant see that makeup listening to a CD. You have to be at the show. And they put on a hell of a show. Some of their early tunes were great. Parasite, Cold Gin, 100000 Years, She. All good tunes but She was a direct rip off of a Doors tune!!!!! | | Darth_Painkiller_0870 wrote: | | HB my friend, you need to listen to Destroyer, Creatures of the Night and Carnival of Souls again. Especially Creatures! So incredibly underrated and underappreciated as a metal album. | | Head banger wrote: | | kiss wrote decent songs (hate Beth) but it was all show. they were in the show business, not the music business. | | METAL MELTDOWN wrote: | | Their "time" has been going on since 1974!! "Our" time will be but one blink of an eye compared to that. Seriously, other than "Beth" has Kiss ever had anything any where near the top 100? I used to be a Kiss freak, Kiss Army and all, up to the Kissgo Disco Dynasty album but I think on it now and what, other than a bitchin stage show, has kiss given to music?????? | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | Don't you find it a bit self-deprecating to deny the aged their time in the spotlight?? Their time was over around 1983.... | | Metallark wrote: | | I think Gene Simmons has the Dracula thing going on in that photo. There is a website called Tune Core. You post your music on there and they distribute it to Amazon, Itunes, ect ect. You collect a check if any of it sells. Thats what former NY Gov' Eliot Spitzers prostitue did and she made a hundred grand after that scandal broke!! My girlfriend had a relative that made 1500 off of one blues tune he posted and had someone wanting to use it for a movie!!!

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understand. Phil plans to sell our original work, just as any musical group would do. I believe he has a place that he can send it and try to sell it. I am not too familiar with the whole thing so I cannot give you details. He posted Judgement Day as a way of letting people hear what to expect, should they decide to purchase the songs. Perhaps it is on a "download" basis? I have no idea, my friend! Honestly, my work is very different from that song. In any event, you would have to PM Phil to get more information. |
