Well then, let me be one of the first to wish you an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 
Seeing my family was first and foremost on my 'to do' list, but finding a way to get back on board here before the Holidays wasn't far behind!!  In a way it's an early present to myself!!
I hope you find some work soon, I know it has to be tough on you.  But like you said, at least you've got family!!
