Very true,I didn`t think bout the gauge. I once tried some 10`s instead of my usual 9`s and the tremelo came up quite abit. Instead of having it adjusted,i just went back to my 9`s and all was good again. There is enough adjustment that you could go up to a really large E,maybe to a 60 or so. But you would probably have to tune it way down to help alleviate the increased tension in the larger gauge. but I`m no Luthier.

thanks for the advice just to clarify things i didnt take all of the strings off i just took the bass strings(EAD) off. Anyway i ended up taking it to my local music store/repair shop and i get it back on thursday. They said it was probably because the gauge of the strings i was putting on were higher than the ones that were previously on there.
