I understand Guido...though I do feel sorry for you in that you don't have a decent place to shop!! I just have little to no tolerance for ppl like him, and that's my problem (was I prjecting??)...and the fact you mentioned Rush...I used to listen to him in the late 80's early 90's, now the sight of him makes me physically ill...but that's an entirely different issue...I liken him to 'Fat Bastard' from Austin Powers!!! What are the caucasian "artists/painters" that he likes? I still hope (s)he responds honestly.
BTW, we have no "local" mall. Nearest mall is an hour drive and nearest DECENT mall is 2.5 by car. So no wasted energy on my part. I live in a very small town surrounded by clandestine racists. Keep in mind that I have lived in many parts of the world but consider Detroit "home" as it is where I did most of my high-school years (save for one in Spain). To me, it is like talking to an extraterrestrial (or Rush Limbaugh <==you KNOW this was for you, Freeze, you non-recycling bastich! LOL!), I am just really interested.
Along those same lines, anyone have a good interview with David Koresh? | | ronhartsell wrote: | | Now you're making me laugh Guido!! Seriously!! I can understand and appreciate your need to 'understand' the 'Racist'...but you can do the same thing by going to your local mall and conducting a survey as well...who cares what his reasons are for being the way he is (or anyone else for that matter)...leave that to the psycologists...I'm here for much different reasons than this...I get this at work!!!...now, if he came here wanting to 'break these chains' of hatred and superiority by involving himself on the Board and mixing things up, cool...but that's not his intent nor do I think anything that we say is going to change anything...I'd rather focus such efforts in other areas of life, but that's me...I really think your humoring him to set him up for a fall (which is cool I guess, he is deserving of that), but I think it's wasted energy...been down this road before, ya know?? | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Now, see? I disagree with just about all of you (strat, as always, you make me laugh!). I was quite sincere in my post and really DO want to know more about his views. I specifically asked about his favorite artists - as in painters - not music. It is not often that one comes across such a fellow who openly admits to having been called a racist and, as such, declared that to be the reason behind his online name. Sure, sounds like it is motivated by hate. The again, it would be no stretch of the imagination that this person has done time in prison. It would explain, in part, an open declaration to only trust all things caucasian.
I see it like I do talk radio. I listen to Hannity, Rush, Savage and their ilk whenever I am able. Drives most people in the car with me on long trips crazy, in fact. While I personally think Rush is a blowhard idiot / hippocrate (yeah, I remember Mr. Oxycontin his railing against all drug users and how they should all be put in jail...until HE gets caught...oops!) I like to hear the views of someone who is so out of touch with my realm of existence (or reality, IMO). I'll watch the 700 club and would love to have open conversations with Mormons and Scientologists. I even remember watching the now infamous "Geraldo Rivera nose-breaking" show live (help me out and say you remember this, old-farts!). Such views are SO far out of my own personal belief- system that I am curious.
So, that having been said, I defend and re-iterate my original and sincere request for "Racist" to say what artists (as in PAINTERS) (s)he appreciates. Early-Byzantine? Baroque or Andy Warhol? I am genuienly curious to know as one so rarely has any open dialog with such a person in this day and age. By that, I mean CENTURY. |
