We'll understand if you "disappear" for a while. | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | Hey hey! I believe I am being misrepresented here!!! I have NEVER been convicted of hot, monkey-love.....Never convicted. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Exactly. We started off talking about birthdays, went to jelly vs. jam (DO let us know, HB) and have now degraded into monkey porn.
Oh, the humanity....(or bestiality as the case may be with DF). | | spapad wrote: | | Porn?, Monkeys?, This is starting to get a little weird! LOL | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BWAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! | | guidogodoy wrote: | | I am looking for confirmation from an "over-the-ponder" as I had heard they have it completely reversed.
Preserves are closer to our jelly than jam. They just throw in larger / whole pieces of fruit with lots of sugar to "preserve" it.
True question stands about jelly vs. jam. Come on, UKers! Here we debate Vegemite vs. Marmite. Now let's have the answer to this all-important question (in the Birthday Thread! LOL!!!) | | Head banger wrote: | | I believe the english have jam and jelly the same. never did know what preserves would be.
wouldnt boysenberrys break up anyway? | | guidogodoy wrote: | | BOYSSSSSSSSSSENBERRY!!!!
However, my friend, what a grievous error as you can clearly see that this is a jar of "preserves" not the "jam."
American English
Jelly - made from fruit juice - no fruit pieces
Jam - made with small pieces of fruit and sometimes fruit pulp.
Preserves - made with large or whole pieces of fruit.
I do understand that the English have it the other way around (jelly vs. jam), no? Lil' help here?
Think about THAT mind-bender the next time you all have your Peanut Butter and JAM! | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Gotta love Knotts' boysenberry jam!! | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Crap, Bev! How on earth did you know?
That is exactly what I am having for breakfast (as I am just waking up "for real" now at noon). You scare me sometimes. Got a camera planted here or just reading my mind?

Deep Freeze's B-day is the 8th, not the 7th. I only know this because he already emailed me his list. He wants a pony.
Wanted to name it bagel or something..... |
