Are you really SO surprised, Soy? As self- periling as my post may be, I must say something.

It amazes how the liberal left decide what is "funny", what is "appropriate" and what is "over-the-top". Simply amazing. I don't suppose you or many other of our Canadian brethren saw the GOP response to Obama's recent speech but, it was interesting at how the left tried to discount Gov. Jindal's message. Make fun of his mannerisms and speech. Compare him to the nerd on "30 Rock". Posts on youtube of Jindal alongside that character then wait for the so-called "serious" media to pick up on it.

Conservatives are not afforded the same leeway when it comes to political "humor", of course. Nor can they express "outrage" as the left is entitled to do. This is a ONE WAY street.  Make fun of a conservative because of mannerisms, it is funny. Do the same to a liberal, it is "racist". The self-righteousness of it all is appalling.  Take our friend Rush. He once laughed when a caller to his show quipped that their kids thought Obama looks like "Curious George". Recall that?? (I am almost certain you don't) But I am equally certain most liberals remember the calls for apologies, the demands for the Fairness Doctrine and the screams for advertiser boycotts. Was ol' Rush's caller out of line? Sure. I think so.  But it was not meant as a demeaning attack... It was a child's comment! PLEASE!!

In Jindal's case, the left hammered away at HOW he said something, not WHAT he said. Nice. Would anyone ever do that to say... Jesse Jackson?? HA!!! Of course not! Ridicule is reserved as the exclusive province of the liberal left....apparently. Very funny. HA HA. Seems to me there is a clear double-standard and, from what I see in your post, an incredulous attitude when it comes to how conservatives view humor.  At least that seems to be the standard for political discourse these days.
