Australian heavy metal band AC/DC is bringing its Black Ice World Tour to Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg Aug. 22.
Promoter Live Nation confirmed the date, which had been rumoured for days, in a news release this morning.
Tickets, $99.50 and $69.50 plus fees, go on sale 10 a.m. April 18 at Ticketmaster.
The concert is the second outdoor rock-music event to be booked this season at the football venue. The Rock of the Range festival, headlined by Ontario's Billy Talent, will take place there June 27.
The last time Winnipeg saw a rock concert at the football stadium was Edgefest in 1998.
The AC/DC tour is playing six Canadian dates, beginning Aug. 6 in Moncton, N.B., and ending Aug. 29 in Vancouver.
The veteran rock band, which claims to have sold 200 million albums worldwide, is on the road to promote its new disc, Black Ice, released last fall.
The music trade journal Pollstar gave the tour its "Major Tour of the Year" award at its 20th annual concert industry awards.
