I'm not Guido, but I would bet you have too many processes running in the background. Bring up Program manager by hitting the contol button, the Alt button and the delete button all at one time and it will bring up program manager. Do not try to shut down "Local" and "System" processes but try to shut down some of your administrator processes you don't use to access the internet. Dont end processes called "cvscc" or something like that, leave them be. Try shutting or things that don't pertain to your browser like gamming extensions and printer controlers (as long as you don't plan to print right now) Also wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in a Registry cleaning program and malware removal program if you do not have these options installed.
P.S. if you accidently shut off a program you needed for internet or anything else major, simply restart the computer and the processes will all be reloaded on start up.
