It might be one of the chinese democracy deals, only this time somebody might pass away or something. There getting pretty old now. | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | OH? Well, it is just my opinion, man. Really. They just don't do much for me right now. Same with Owens when he was with Priest. That music does NOT sound like Priest to me. Sounds WAY too "modern" and edgy to be Priest. Again, opinion. | | Dime/UNDER BLOOD RED SKIES!!!! wrote: | | Damn i hope not, at the show they were on fire man, honestly one of the best shows ive seen. They were talking about putting out a new album with Roth and i hope it goes through. That would rule!!! 20 years later....again with Roth!!! But who knows maybe we can blame it all on Eddie's kid Wolfgang, hahaha. Its all that little basterds fault!!! He was actually a pretty talented bassist for being in his early 20's i think maybe even younger. | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! Oh, I do understand. I truly do.
Roth's voice is a big part of VH for me as well. It reminds me of their first couple albums. Eddie is a genius, I know that. He is great. but Roth and his style helped to define VH and they have not been the same without him. In fact, they are not the same WITH him anymore. The special something they had in '78 is gone, from what I have heard. | | Dime/UNDER BLOOD RED SKIES!!!! wrote: | | I agree, Sammy could blow away Roth in a singing contest. But I feel Roth is the right man for VH. He's got the act for the show, seeing them live with Roth was the VH i want to see again. By the way DF, i try and let it go, but certian people tend to grind my gears the wrong way, it really cheeses me off when people rip on Halford. He's the Metal God for crying out loud. | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | To be very honest, I have never really considered DLR a "great vocalist" at all. I think he is a showman and a TREMENDOUS front man. An entertainer. A "pretty face" (years ago) that the ladies love. Vocally speaking, he is not all that good (as far as I am concerned) but he has that ability to work a crowd that makes him a great "Rock Front man". Hagar has far more vocal control and musicianship but I am not a fan of him at all.
Roth is more like Mick Jagger for me. Jagger is not a "great" vocalist , either. He is an accomplished showman. He also is a musical genius and I say that because he has the longevity to back it up! Anyway, to stay on "topic", I would vote Roth all the way. I enjoyed VH when they first hit the scene and stopped caring when Roth left. |
