I am off to the library myself! (damn....closed...to do list for tomorrow). | | spapad wrote: | | Michaelangelo! Go to the library and check out a book on Michaelangelo's sketches. True he did draw women's breast's as if they were cannonballs on their chest but to be honest he probably used young men in studio as no lady of the day would have disrobed for such a thing as a sketch. But look at his sketches, he was a master at sketching. Most of his works probably took no longer than 15 minutes when he was sketching, as is proper. It will amaze you how much volume and emotion he could evoke in such a short time.
Aggressive crosshatching, sometimes only lines to delinate shade and texture. A Must see for any aspiring aritist. | | Becks wrote: | | Ooooh thanks for the tips, I know I need to work on the eyes a bit more LOL! I'm always open to ideas on how to improve | | spapad wrote: | | Your very good with face porportions. My only critism would be to study the eye more closely and don't forget to represent it as round with lid area around it and don't forget the lighter area that will appear opposite from your hightlight on your eye. Work on those and you will see you pictures take on a whole new life. Just my opinion, and I did go to art school for quiet a while (3 years) where I learned that although I could do what they asked, I was not having fun anymore. | | Becks wrote: | | Ahhh that's cool that she is so in to it, she will learn how to do all those techniques eventually. Heck I'm still learning, teaching myself rather LOL! | | spapad wrote: | | Well, she has to stop me because I get carried away, then it doesn't look like a kid did it! To be certain, she's a fair artist herself, she will take some instruction from me on how to do things, but does not want me as her teacher. She says she does until we sit down to do some work. Simple stuff like shading, and learning the proper way to do it, that's technical not god sent, easy stuff to learn. She get's mad because I'll complete my project before her and mine looks better than her's, but It should! She's a tween, too frustrated too easy. | | Becks wrote: | | Haha thats cool! It's neat she lets you have some creative input but still likes to do things herself | | spapad wrote: | | There's quite a few things of mine on here but to be honest since Flora came into the world, I've done a few things but not much. I don't have much liesure time and I need a little kick to get things going again. It's funny though if Im just helping Flora with a project; that spark ignites, and the next thing you know she's having to stop me from doing her work! She allows me creative input and to show her how to do things but she holds me back from the rest! Good for her! | | Becks wrote: | | Cheers Spa yeah I want to see some artwork of yours! I remember seeing some on here that you drew a while back, they were awesome! Pics of KK I believe they were | | spapad wrote: | | That's a lovely sketch Becks! You make me want to drag out my tools are start messing around with them more often. Been long enough I suppose. | | Becks wrote: | | Here's Glenn, for Vail sorry the hair is roughly done, and his eyes need a little more work, but I hope you like!
