While I have seen ads for them in magazines where you can get your own number, I don't think I have seen one for your own chip. Most are hard plastic and are given, along with the number, when you get your gear before a race. Really funny as they REALLY want those chips back asap when you cross the line. Here you have just run 13.1 miles and you have to sit down and untie your shoes (as you put them in your laces) before they'll let you out of the finishers area.
Last race was a bit different in that they gave you little paper / magnetic devices that you just wrapped in a circle and stuck it to your laces. While I didn't trust this new tech, it seemed to have worked and they are so cheap that you don't have to give them back. I'll let you know what the Sunday routine is..LOL!
Lol, I guess on first waking and non athlete it could sound strange lol. Do you get to keep yours for the whole of the running season like we do or need to replace them all the time?
I found out the new one today I keep for ever! How cool is that! lol

"Get chip and racing number" - how odd that sounded to me upon first read. LOL! Hits me that I am doing the same thing in two days! Another 1/2 marathon and yea, I guess we do use chips and numbers too! HAAA!!!! Race in Indiana on Sunday.
Ok, so I am a bit slow. Just woke up. Give me a break!

Now we need to mission off into town to go on the hunt for a new printer, more coffee cups, Craig saw some really cute ones with cats all over them. I need to pick up my new timer chip and racing number for the season and.. phew still do my entry for the next event before I'm too late. Gotta get those seedings up! lol
