TOPIC: Next Priest Studio Album

Your lack of faith is well placed JD. I've just heard on the grapevine that the new Priest cd is set to be another double concept album. Based on the life of Saint Nicholas, it begins with Nick as a boy, unable to understand this strange yearning he has to be close to reindeers. Confused, he begins a life of crime breaking into peoples houses by climbing down the chimney. After being caught by the police he ends up in prison where he spends a lot of time "sitting on the laps" of fellow prisoners, which he actually quite enjoys. It's while he is in jail that he has an epiphany and realises the error of his ways. After being released on a good behavior bond he sets about making changes by combining all of the things he loves into a vocation that will not only bring him fame but the adoration of millions of children around the world. He puts together a stable of lithe, atheletic reindeer and teaches them to fly. He takes night classes on how to make toys and has contracts drawn up with department stores all around the world allowing him to come in for one month a year and let young children wriggle around on his lap. He gets away with this by simply pointing out how much money they could make. Cynically they agree to his perverted ways using the logic, well he's going to do it anyway, we might as well make some money out of it. So on December 24 each year he loads up his sleigh with toys, harnesses up his reindeer and sets of on a 24 hour breaking and entering spree the likes of which have never been seen before. However rather than taking things, he leaves things behind. Thus spreading joy and goodwill to all men. Said Priest lead singer Rob Halford on the album. " The story of Father Christmas has long been one that has fascinated us as a band and it was only a matter of time before we were able to tell his story in a way that we felt would do it justice and do justice to metal fans around the world. It is a really exciting time for us and with the songs nearing completion we are looking at being in the studio in the new year, with a release date pencilled in for christmas 2010".
