If at all possible, look into the PLEK process. It evalutates the fret condition with a laser under string tension and is rumored to be absolutely phenomenal. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guitardude from Sunday, October 18, 2009 4:33:59 PM)

Yea, I kind of figured that is what I would have to do. Looking into a place in Ohio that another member has used. I have seen their work in person and it`s remarkable. (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Sunday, October 18, 2009 6:43:43 AM)

It may be time for a pro set up. Might need a truss rod adjustment and a fret level and polish by now, so I would consider having it done....

Open question here. I have been adjusting my Jackson for lower action and have the strings at 2.5mm between the 12th and 13th frets. With the Jumbo frets that Jackson uses this puts them right on the deck with just a hint of buzz. This still seems high to me and is driving me crazy. I`m thinking that with the height of these frets, maybe I should just get used to it. OR... should I look into a fret leveling job and bring them down a bit??? been checking prices and wow is that pricey. The local shop that has done lot`s of work in the past for me, the owner retired and closed up. So now this has forced me to look elsewhere.
So should I just get used to it? Or look into getting the work done?
