Hmm... I confess I never was a fan of 'Painkiller' played live - on the album it rocks hard enough to make yer shoes bleed, but it seems to me to be more a song for the album than one to be played live. Compare Rob's vocals on any live performance of Painkiller to the ball-scouring, blistering power on the album (partly due to the various ways they were able to play with his voice in the studio), and it just never seems to cut it by comparison. I've always felt that Between The Hammer And The Anvil was a much more powerful song live, and was VERY happy when Maria and I went to see them in February at Wembley, because they played BTHATA and it was IN-F***IN'-CREDIBLE!!!
