Oh yes, the dreaded door opening.. How the hell do they not see us? I mean.. maybe it's because I cycle but I NEVER open my car door without looking first. And the added danger comes in when you realize what they are abou to do and you have to make a decision of either being hit off your bike by the door or swerving into trafic and being killed by the vehicle behind you. Tell me again why we are so addicted to this sport? lol. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Friday, November 06, 2009 6:20:04 PM)

Hellrider, the sport we chose is one of adventure, danger and great thrills.. if those moronic drivers actually saw us.. think of how stunted our natural reflexes would be and how thrill-less our rides would be..PMSL
No seriously, the amount of close calls I've had on the bike are just way too many to mention. What time of the morning do you ride? I find that 5am is the best time no later than that unless it's an actual event and then I have no say on what time I'm starting but then the roads are marshalled and on some of the bigger races we get certain areas of road closure.
Come to think of it, even on Helena (the motorcycle) they don't see me that much and she's a beast of note!
On the bicycle, I'm dressed like a fecking christmas tree with extra toppings and they still don't see me? WTF?
I really wish we could hook up and go riding together sometime, it would be so fun..lol fecking ocean in our way though.

There are so many stupid people in the world that my car, got hit last year while parked. I park far away from everybody, because I hate door dings, and I came out that day and damn, don't you know it somehow, someway, someone hit me! I WAS lucky as the guilty party apparently decided they would give me that evening to cool down, and then came and confessed to hitting my car. There are no cameras over there and nothing to make her tell me. So I feel fortunate I least I got hit by an honest idiot! LOL

Your dad gave you some excellent advice Becks! When I drive, I pretty much think of what stupid people would do and sure enough, they do it to me! I've avoided many accidents that way. Mark says I have a "cloak of invisibility" so any car I'm in becomes invisible to stupid people!

LMAO Hellrider!!!! Drivers in general piss me off - when my Dad taught me to drive, he said to treat every other driver on the road as if they are an idiot. Little did I know, every other driver on the road really is an idiot!
