The southern states are the part of the US that I would be most interested in visiting if I ever got the chance to go over there. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Thursday, April 01, 2010 2:21:58 PM)

It does nothing but add to the fuel of people's beliefs that all people from certain states are stupid, inbred, or mafia/gang organized if you go north. It's pathetic the way the media goes out of their way to paint a people with the broad brush of separation and racism. The media is a vulture. Most of what we hear I wonder if you could trust it at all. I certainly would not take an interview with people from what the U.S., as a whole, considers ingnorant states Because it is NOT a representation of the people who live there by and large.

I can confirm what you say about the news looking to find the person with one tooth and more TWANG to their speech than I thought humanly possible.
A person I know works as our local anchorwoman. She pretty much confirmed what you stated: anyone who looks "normal" and speaks well in Tennessee is right out. They want people in wife-beaters speaking slang: "DANG, mai kun dawg done flown o'er tha haouse weth that thar ternada!" WTF, eh?

Since I don't watch those shows I guess I wont care about Jersey being hurt by it. Anyone with a brain knows better!
I do know that one goof, Snookie? only because she made an ass out of herself interviewing Rob and Scott. LOL I certainly don't think that show is anywhere near what the normal Jersey person is like at all.
I'm sure Jersey Girls with their unique accent are just as down to earth as southern girls with the twang. It's all the same, just how the media portrays all of us.
Now what is really sad, is when they interview a West Virginian, (state nextdoor to me) the media always go out of their way to find some ignorant fool with no teeth who is sporting a ball cap that says "God, Gun, Guts, and Glory" . How sad they feel the need to portray certain states in negative ways. It's all media bullshit.
After this winter, I wouldn't blame you for wanting to head West! It really sucked this year! BTW, before you leave send me those puppies! OH!! How cute they are!!!

Aww, shucks. Thanks
Oh yeah I still am enjoying not pumping gas!!! And I am hoping that shows like "Jersey Shore" and "Jerseylicious" turn people so off to my state they stop visiting! LOL Too crowded here. Though my accent IS total NJ stereotype.
I visited Pheonix and Sand Diego and am quickly falling in love with the West Coast...if I can find a job out there I will relocate. Warm weather year round!

I only have 2 dogs in the house now. The momma dog Priscilla, and the crazy "uncle" dog Iggy Pop.
And now you guys know what I look like...LOL

Jerzgirl! So lovely to see you!!! Love the pups!

This is me with one of the pups when he was about 5 months old. He came back for a sleepover - his name is Ozzy. LOL
This is the last 3 of them before they went home. :(
And from the beginning...they were sooo freaking precious.
The day they were born...my dog was the BEST momma...broke my heart to see them go - she would count them when they were up and running. She loved her babies.
