TOPIC: Can Metal Survive Without The Trad Metal Giants??
[J.D. DIAMOND] Sunday, April 25, 2010 3:12:35 PM
I couldn't "disagree" with you more here if I tried my hardest Bured. That is absolutely "untrue".  Nobody in the realm of heavy metal wants "originality" to the point of crossing over the line leaving the heavy metal ballpark. They want "heavy metal" not alternative commercialism. You don't have to like them but look at old Running Wild, old early 90's Iced Earth.....when they were released people got into them, not complaining that they "sound too British -like"...they embraced it because it reminded them of old Iron Maiden,Judas Priest,Saxon..ect.... if you take that image & sound away too far,its not "heavy metal" anymore.

Disturbed,Godsmack,System Of A Down are not "heavy metal" they are an alternative hard-rock-nu commercialism, not "metal" they are far from being "metal".  Trust me when Priest,Saxon,Black Sabbath,Dio,King Diamond,Exciter and even Maiden retire and there are no more bands to take thier place, you will be the first one bitching about how there are no bands taking the torch of british styled heavy metal. Watch.
