Aw, man, there are actually a shitload of bands rthat try and many times succed at sounding like classic oldschool heavy metal bands,if they don't get media exposure, too bad, but metal is not a fucking mainstream music listeners, is for fucking metalheads!!! you want classic heavy metal sound bands?? search it!! or made your own classic metal sound band for fucksake!!probably the amount of real metalheads who enjoy oldschool metal will decrease, but real metalheads will survive, plus, I give you guys a tip: try search bands from outside!!! like Europe and South America scenes!!! most metal bands from USA, no offense, are Pantera/Machine Head/Slikpnot/Hatebreed worshippers and metalcore trendy bands, when in Europe and South America are most influenced by are Judas Priest, Saxon, Warfare, old Slayer, Celtic Frost,Razor,Voivod, Anvil, Sarcofago, Pestilence, Vio-Lence, Violent Force, Bolthrower, old Mayhem and so kind of bands, also Canadian scene is a good choice,oh and some times there are actually good USA metal band hardcore influenced by oldschool heavy metal, anyway, this are some classic heavy metal/NWOBHM influenced bands:

Maybe any of these bands are great as the classics but at least they are trying to preserve classic heavy metal, and that cvounts for something, I guess.

Heavy metal will die out like a smoldering fire and the fire is almost out already,and its because of there are not enough bands that want to carry on the traditional heavy metal aesthetics and most importantly the british style heavy metal sound,with "quality" song writting,there are simply just not enough bands that are willing to take it that far with heavy metal. When these godfathers of heavy metal retire I won't be buying anything new of heavy metal anymore,maybe a band or 2 but they will be far into the underground and obscurity for anyone to notice ect...
And as you wrote: Will I miss Priest and the other bands you mentioned? Of course I will,but I won't let it keep me from enjoying music.
When they retire I will enjoy the metal I already have,I don't need to listen to "nu" corporate watered down commercial rock like the terrible Disturbed..."sorry spa and Victoria" HA!

I think those bands mentioned are quite heavy and I've already embraced the changes to metal. I don't
like everything out there but I didn't back in the day either. Everything changes, you can choose to roll with it or you can stay stuck in a rut. The great thing is that we all have the right to decide. When I say
(you) I mean everyone not you particularly. And, quite honestly, I enjoy many styles of music now not
just metal so it's easier for me to move on. Will I miss Priest and the other bands you mentioned? Of

for good discussions. It also gives me the opportunity to re-examine what I post and think it through.

I've always tried to not get stuck in a rut like that. I enjoy alot of today's bands. I could do without
most of the (growl) thing but no-one is going to like everything. I love bands like Disturbed, Godsmack,Slipknot, System... and others. I think as long as we have angry youth we'll have heavy music albeit
different than what were used to. I'm glad music is ever evolving. This is just my opinion. It only
matters to me. I'm not trying to change anyone, I'm just trying to provoke thought. Peace!
