Well if you think the remixed version of Small Deadly Space is that much better why did Halford release a substandard original product. Obviously the production techniques have improved but if it's as good as you say it is he is guilty of putting out a substandard product and ripping off the fans.
I can't understand how three studio albums can warrant three live albums.
This practice of re-releasing albums with bonus tracks that didn't make the original cut stinks, it is a practice designed to sell the album again. If they weren't good enough then why now? Also rereleasing an album with a new track sucks too, do 1/10 of the work and make the same amount of money as you would if you wrote a whole new album because die-hard fans will want to have everything and buy it again. It's parasitic. Like I just said. Remixes are DIFFERENT from the original. Its the songs reworked and in this case the remix is way better then the original. Production wise, vocal wise, instrument wise, arrangement wise, its ALL better.

And the main reason Halford is releasing all this stuff again IS BECAUSE ITS OUT OF PRINT. When was the last time you saw this shit in a music store? I for one personally can't wait for the Anaheim DVD and double live album because its gonna be fucking amazing.
Also can't wait for the Crucible remix/remaster because it DOES sound better, and it also has ALL of the Crucible songs you previously could only get on the Jap or Euro versions.
Is that not reason enough?
I'm not a picky person at all but when they is an overall BETTER product out there, why not get the best one available? | | jimmyjames wrote: | | No because I already own Fights two studio albums and resent the fact that Halford is trying to sell them to me again. And I don't really think Small Deadly Space was that good anyway so why would I want to purchase a remixed version of it. | | Bazookajoe_666 wrote: | | Well thats not narrowminded at all.
Have you heard the remix of A Small deadly Space that comes in the Fight boxset? Its like a completely different album. AMAZING album as well. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Here's what Halfords put out.
Resurrection (good), Crucible (good) and the lamo Winter Songs ( shit ). Three Studio albums plus Live Insurrection, Live Insurrection Remastered, Live at Rock In Rio, Live at Anaheim, Crucible Remastered and Metal God Essentials which has Fight and Halford tracks on it.
Also with Fight, War Of Words (good ),, Small Deadly Space (shit ), and Mutations ( shit ) which is four live tracks and four remixed tracks from War Of Words ( which are basically Fight wishing they were Fear Factory ), War Of Words The Demos ( why the fuck would anyone want the fucking demos when they have the album ) and Into The Pit the box set containing War Of Words, Small Deadly Space and Mutations plus a bonus dvd.
It's a crock of shit, a rip off and a con. And Small Deadly Space and Winter Songs are fucking bad albums.
I have War Of Words, Small Deadly Space, Resurrection, Crucible and Live Insurrection and don't think I need any more.
Stop ripping off the fans and put out either a new Halford album with no Christmas carols or a new Priest album where the only concept is loud, fast and heavy.

I mean to me the original CD sounds absolutely fine, and in my opinion its just another way of making an extra buck off the fans. Whats next, they release the Crucible CD with 5 different album covers and you'll have to buy all 5 or your not a true fan blah blah blah? lol!!!
I'm one of the very few who are sickened and tired of all these remastered box-sets of albums that I already have,I'm tired of bands releasing shit that is rehashed in a slightly different format, and I'm also one of the very few who are tired of seeing bands preform an old album in its entirety. But I realize that many people are excited about these kind of things and so be it. The only thing that I'm interested in is a band that I like putting out a brand new album that is worthy, other than that I'll save my cash. | | Bazookajoe_666 wrote: | | Crucible needed the remaster badly. Same as A Small Deadly Space. They both sound a million times better production wise now being reMIXED and mastered. Eveyrthing is less muddied and more upfront.
Now Resurrection on the other hand, THAT didn't need a remaster haha. | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | The remix and remaster of Cruicible? Wasn't that CD released in 2002? I mean if it was released in 1982 then I can see it but 2002 Joe? Only 8 years ago? To you that may seem like another life time but trust me,its not and I find it irritating that its been remastered!! lol! Whats next,Angel Of Retribution remastered? lol!
I'm just so sick of all these remasterd and remixed albums these days,I'd rather listen the the "shitty" version of these albums..."the originals". lol!!! | | Bazookajoe_666 wrote: | | Is nobody excited except me? |
