Well it's definitely a word ending in 'tion'.
The company the university is working with is called Fonterra, that may help you find out more about it. The lady said it was working with UC Davis on this project. So far (still in super-slow mode) I'm picking up something like "desecration" from the second whisper...or "is this our creation"... or "discreation". So it's one of those. HA! | | Becks wrote: | | To do with different components of infant formula. The lady talking was boring so I drifted in and out of interest to be honest lol.
I'm trying to decipher them too, going to keep listening! LOL! | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Really?? What kind of research? That's awesome!!
I'm trying to decipher those whispers on Sinner at the moment. I can play it in extra-slow motion, so I'm trying to pick some clues using that route. So far, not much. | | Becks wrote: | | Heya Vail. All good here, it's labour day tomorrow so no work for me LOL!!! Just trucking along like normal. Oh something random I learned at work the other day - one part of the company has been undertaking studies in line with your university, LOL! Random. | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | I hear "sins of a nation" (maybe) in the first whisper, but the other whisper is harder to interpret.
How are ya doing, Becks? How's life in NZ? | | Becks wrote: | | Bahahaha, that is indeed craptacular! As for the whispered part of the song, to my ears one of the words he says is salvation, but who knows, lol. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | I couldn't decide what was my favorite / worst line:
1) Deafing the devil in his abode (even hard to say); or
2) ...searching for the CAUCUSES of war. (which political caucus? Repub.? Dem.? Teaparty? LOL!!!)
Both are craptacular! | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Holy crap. You're right. That transcription is horrible. First stanza is a dead giveaway. "See the rider". Really?? Don't know whether to laugh or cry . | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Nah, I'd sooner bet it is just a lazy person transcribing the lyrics. Look at these, for example. How wrong can they be?

"And you were right beside him but never lived a scout...?" WTF? Still, no mention of the line in question.
I have been scouring bootlegs in long runs listening for it. Some are clearer than others but, like I said, I still have no solid answer. I mean, Glenn was so kind as to write down the only words whispered in Baptizm of Fire (the song). I want a JP show and a date when it is clear, damnit! Bootleg or otherwise.
One of the many things I ponder while I run. | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Sounds good. Let us wait.
As for the question on what's being whispered on Sinner: no idea. Says nothing about it on the album jacket. Maybe JP's letting us make up our minds about it? | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Even easier....we'll wait for Spa to answer.
In a similar "song associated" question, I am looking for some solid answer to what has been asked before. Namely, what does Rob whisper in the reprise of "Sinner?"
------------
Sacrifice to vice or die by the hand of the
Sinner
Sinner
(XXXXXX??)
Sinner
Sinner
------------
I have my ideas and have seen others but never a definitive answer to the question either in liner notes, video, etc. Thoughts? | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Hey, it's almost Halloween.
Why even bother watching it? Just skip to the ending credits and it'll most likely be there. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Baahaaaaa! Buffy...vampire...sucks.... <==no pun intended, right?
Still, might actually give me a reason to watch the film. | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | I wonder if the song order of the soundtrack is correct? If so, then that means Light Comes out of Black was reserved for the ending credits. Sucks.

Now that's weird. A Pantera/Rob Halford song for a Buffy movie? Huh. That's interesting. Has anyone here seen it and heard that song in the background?
Good to know, though. Thanks for the info.

Oddly enough, I had the same question the other day when I was listening to it. "Light Comes out of Black" on Halford's "Live Resurrection" album. It struck me that it wasn't on any Fight albums so I looked it up on the liner notes for LR when I got home. It reads (basically): all songs were recorded in 2000-2001 during the Resurrection tour (Halford) with "several 'Bonus' tracks which were recorded either at soundcheck before an evening's performance or on a 'non-show day.' 'Light Comes out of Black' & 'Life in Black' were slipped into the 'Live' sequence with some studio magic because that's where we believe they worked best..."
"Life in Black" is on Fight's "War of Words." "Light Comes Out of Black" was neither Halford band NOR Fight. Wiki has the following:
"In between both albums, Fight released an EP, Mutations, featuring War of Words studio versions, live cuts and alternate mixes. Immediately before this, Halford had recorded a track called "Light Comes Out of Black" for the 1992 movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The song featured music provided by Pantera, although their contribution is uncredited."
How about THAT for an answer? Buffy and Pantera! LOL!
