Good work Ron! Just curious, is there no legal standard for holidays over there? I mean as in, every worker here in NZ is entitled to 4 (I'm pretty sure it's 4 LOL!) weeks paid annual leave a year. Is it not the same there, does it depend on employer? [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by ron h from Sunday, November 07, 2010 7:42:17 AM)

Bev is well versed in procedure and all things HR, so it was helpful bouncing ideas off her. We did have our unmoving points of view, but great insight none the less.
Some of the gains we made on the economic side are we now have 11 paid Holidays a year, 3 weeks paid vacation, employer paid health insurance and a $.75 raise!!

Congrats Ron! I could see Bev's point of view. That many months of listening to the tales of the nogotiation table.
Good to hear your union came out on the better side of things.

Good morning fellow Metalheads
Well, it's finally over with!! As most of you know I'm a union negotiator at the plant I work at. We've been in negotiations for a new contract since March and it's now a done deal!! The ratification vote was about 92% in favor of, which, to me, is vindication of the comittees hard work. In this day and age when unions are getting weaker, every contract gets harder and harder to make gains on. Fortunately, we made no concessions anywhere and made gains all across the board.
Now that this is over with, I can now come out and play a little more and Bev can quit rolling her eyes at me lol!!
