I agree with the american down tuned pantera styled guitars in Jugulator and Demolition. Also with halford's band too. I just wish the Halford band would up=tune thier guitars and make it sound more british heavy metal and if Rob would write more material like One Will,Handing Out Bullets,Betrayal ect....
I guess it boils down to the levels of how much you like Judas Priest here. Yes they will always be my favorite band of all time, but I'm at the bottom of the chain in here,I think almost every member here likes this band more than I do. The reason I say this is because I'm "bored" with this band, sure I still have Angel Of Retribution to listen too and I'm glad for at least that but Nostradamus kicked my ass so far up between my shoulders in disappointment that I've never been able to recover from it.
Reading posts from Hellrider now for 3 years pleading them to make a real heavy metal album....3 fucking years and I thought there would 100% definately be a new album but watching hellrider plead for a new album and then this shit is a sour taste in my mouth and it left me bitter. Rob wrote the lyrics to Heavy Duty in 84 ' "Were gonna rock ya till' your metal hungers fed".......where is this fucking "metal" Rob???
And to Ron.....if Glenn Tipton is "ill" then what is he doing going on tour .....a world wide tour that they said will last all through 2012 ....what is he touring for if he was that sick he simply wouldn't be able to pull off a 2 year world tour!!! He just wouldn't be able to.
Dio was sick too and he wasn't able to tour the world either, yet Dio "was" able to get into the studio and record an album. Now I'm not saying that if Glenn has cancer or something he should be in the studio....no I'm not saying that, but I am saying that if he is sick then he shouldn't be "touring"...that is 100% way more hard on the body than recording an album?
Again,it just boils down to how much you like this band,I still love Priest but it will take me a few years from now to appreciate them again, right now I'm disgusted with this band and its the lingering affect from Nostradamus as I fucking hate that god damn piece of shit album!!!! That one album ruined "everything" a heavy metal fan stands for. I can't fathom seeing the band live under these circumstances, not at all and with no new album to go along with it makes it worse.
There isn't anything left for me to post here as in 2011....Murray will lock this site up after the farewell tour is finished in 2012 and no more JP.com. It goes to show that K.K. Downing had his "head up his ass" when he chose to create "Nostradamus" as the band should of been preparing a real heavy metal album in 2008,he could of done Nostradamus anytime in his "off time" after Judas Priest retired because they didn't need to tour it as we all seen how "short" that Nostradamus tour was,it failed so bad they had to spark up a 30 year old album and tour it!
I do understand why most will charish 2011 and are excited to see the band live,I'm not falling into that category because I'm not as big of a fan as everybody here is. I'll put my excitement towards Motorhead and Saxon in 2011 as both bands are releasing studio albums like a band should be doing. If they released a new studio album Victoria and I were going to see them live,I haven't seen Judas Priest "LIVE" since the Ram It Down tour in Seattle 1988!! And it looks as if thats the last time I will ever see this band live. "My choice and 'll have absolutely no regrets".

Ron, I hope your right about the band not knowing this last time they played. hope your wrong about the health issues.
JD, your right about the Pantera style. interesting though, when priest brought in Tim they changed the guitar sound. WTF? their only chance of pulling off a new singer was to keep the fans that were guitar focused, then they change that up? to me, Rob left over "creative differences" ok we know more now but at the time that was the story. he puts out Fight, american style metal. Priest gets a new singer and moves towards american metal themselves???? I just see too many similaritys between jugulator and Fight.
Would anyone have given priest with tim a chance if the guitars sounded like they did in painkiller, or defenders or stained class? would anyone have givenn priest a chance with a famous singer? not that it was ever in the cards, but what about Tate? Dickinson? ozzy? Dio? ok maybe ozzy would be a bad fit. |
