I've been a fan since 1981 when I was 11 years old and first saw the Heading Out To the Highway video. They have been my favorite band since,I awaited the release of Screaming For Vengeance in 1982 when I was 12,and bought every album since so yes I'm a long time fan. Supernaut1968.....Judas Priest aren't trying to gain any new fans, they are continueing because of fans like me,spapad,Guido,Hellrider,Becks,HRMG and others.
For fans like you and our beloved own Deep Freeze and others the band has been put to rest and buried. And absolutely untrue that Glenn would be easier to replace, both K.K. and Glenn are extremely hard to replace and in my opinion both have a signature guitar sound that makes Judas Priest. If Glenn left I'd say the same thing here.
You think Glenn Tipton could be replace by "any half decent guitar players? Are you fucking kidding me here supernaut1968? Sorry but that is the most stupid comment I have EVER heard at this forum the 6 years I've been here! Name me one guitar player that could "replicate" Glenn's signature sound? Pssssft please, what a fucking "joke".
K.K.'s signature guitar sound can't be replaced either without sounding altered to some point. That is "fine" with us fans that want the band to continue. This is not fine for you and other fans. So be it. Nobody is forcing you to show up here. Nobody is forcing you to go to the show. Nobody is forcing you to get excited about a new album and nobody is forcing you to buy the new album.
For you supernaut1968 Judas Priest is "dead". So be it. Move on,maybe pay $60.00 bucks a year and go to the Maiden forum. Go to a different metal forum if it bothers you this bad. Quit listening to Judas Priest all together or just listen to the albums that make you happy.
Whatever floats your boat here,I don't give a shit. This new era of Judas Priest is NOT FOR YOU and many others,we get that but us fans of the band right now don't care because this new chapter of Judas Priest is for "US" not you. Again, sorry for the loss of your band, but we are awaiting a new style without K.K. and a new "real" heavy metal album without K.K. so be it.
There is no need for people to keep bitching about K.K. leaving,he is not coming back and Priest isn't quitting, they are moving forwards and K.K. is staying home. So what.
And you say Glenn could be easily replaced by half decent guitar players? Yeah fucking right...pssssft fucking joke, thats the most idiotic statement I've ever heard about Judas Priest period.
And the new album won't have K.K.'s signature guitar style that helped create the sound of Judas Priest....so what?
We are waiting for a "new sound" with Tipton and Faulkner and a new sound that a studio album will sound like,so what? I'd rather have Richie Faulkner on a new "real heavy metal oldschool album" than to have K.K. on another "Nostradamus". I'm willing to bet right now that the majority of fans will like the new album next year better than the nostradamus album with K.K......we'll wait and see.

JD Diamond, I don't know know what type of fan you're referring to, but at this stage in their career, Priest aren't likely to gain many new ones. I've been a fan of Priest since 1979 and seen all of their tours since 1981 onwards (UK tours that is) and while the band have made some errors along the way, I did stick with them.
This latest issue has been handled badly by all sides and given the amount of experience with the group and their management, you'd think they could have done alot better.
Another point I wanted to address was the popularity of KK, whilst we're all going to have different opinions on this, for me, KK summed up all that was great about the band. Foe me, Glenn would be much easier to replace as his playing style could be replicated by any half decent metal player.
As I've already stated, I've followed the band for over 30 years and the Epitaph tour would have been a fitting end to the group, but even this was somehow messed up.
Oh well....
