Those that lived it confirm what I already know. There were two camps. Hair / glam rock and metal.
To paraphrase Scott Ian (Anthrax): "It wasn't as if we suggested people go out and beat the crap out of glam bands (such as LA bands like Poison), we just didn't say DON'T do it!"
