I hear ya. Perhaps you could push the NZ government to invade some oil-rich country to "liberate" them! heh
While we suffer those same inexplicable spikes in gas prices, what compounds the damage is that our economy is absolutely in the shitter. In my immediate area, every other house seems like it is up for sale with nobody buying. We are currently tied for second highest unemployment rate in the state (17+%) and we are one of the poorest states in the nation.
Sad when people can't afford to drive themselves out to find better jobs but, hey, election year! One of the two rich guys running for Pres will fix everything for sure!
Ah, prolly a better topic for the Blah. After all, that is my general opinion of politicians (aka. big business). BLAH!
I remember when it cost less than $1 per litre lol, ahh those were the days. The thing that gets me is the stupid reasons fuel companies use for the increases, with the latest increases earlier this week they quoted every reason under the sun, the exchange rates, instability in the middle east, blah blah blah.

Becks, I feel for you and europe and the outlaying islands and territories. We in the US are spoiled. We always have the best gas prices and we are really not happy when they get as high as they are now.
What really sucks, is in 2001 I could fill up my Toyota for $11.00 and I thought that was outrageous. I wish OPEC would have a gas war again. In 1984 I paid $0.57 per gallon. Please let that happen again. lol
