While I know "Snot" can barely read much less type, many know that health was based on Humoral Theory for ages. Galen was often credited for bringing it to the Western World.
Four "humors" - yellow bile, black bile, phlegm and blood. When one or more was out of sync or outweighed the other, the state was called dyscrasia = the body was off balance and usually needed a good bleeding. "In state," or balance, was called eucrasia.
We have to much snot on this thread. We need to purge a lot of phlegm here. The site needs a good "bleeding." Anyone got a shitload of leeches?
