Evans, all arguing aside, in 1990...sure,maybe there were a little more fans that liked Painkiller than those who did not,but it wasnt a landslide towards it like today.
Somehow you get the idea that I dont like the album or over rate it? Not so. I love Painkiller,I bought it the day it came out,consider it #4 all time lp of Priests and still pump it heavily.
It is the everest of Priest's heavy albums yes,but to me Sad Wings,BS,SFV beats it. IMO only.
And yes I think fans want a much more heavier lp than AOR and Nostra. I do too. I liked AOR not only for the 8 out of 10 yracks I like but also the way it was purposely recorded not as heavy as Painkiller to harken back to an lp that sounded somewhere inbetween SFV and DOTF kinda sound ect....
