And losing my leather coat down the crack between then stage and the pit!! THANK YOU to the AWESOME guy in the crew that went down there to get it for me!! How the hell my leather coat could fit down that 3 inch crack and then drop 5 feet I'll never know! I would have been frozen waiting at the busses for 2 hours without my jacket But the lady at guest services had me cracking up - "This happens every show. One person always loses their coat or something down there. So don't go thinking you are special!" BAAHAHAHAHA!!
And to the security lady by the gate at the busses - I WAS paying attention damn it, my fingers were frozen and not working properly so I kept losing grip on the bandana!! When Glenn was signing it, she yelled at me again to pay attention. I laughed and said, "That is exactly what Glenn said to my son! Now Luke, pay attention!" Glenn looked up at me and I could tell he was trying to remember. That is a running joke in our house. "Luke, Glenn Tipton told you to pay attention!!" He just smiles and blushes. For him, getting hit in the face with Scott's stick when Scott threw it to him and he missed catching it and Glenn telling him to pay attention are 2 of the best things that have ever happened to him! PRICELESS memories from the EPITAPH tour!

On the way back to the airport, Mom asked me to rate that concert against all the multiple ones I have ever seen. Honestly? While I can't rate them accurately, that HAS to be at the top for many of the reasons you mentioned below. Everything Louisville was NOT! Beautiful venue, as you said, warm and SEATS! Very respectful crowd as you say and getting four out of 5 to sign?! Having Ritchie point at me as I was calling HIM the "Devil's Child" whereupon he smiled and threw me a pick?! Holy crap.
I did manage to get the pix / vids from my bro. Already previewed "Hell Bent" and it came out great! I'll give you that the mic on the iPhone 6 is a hell of a lot better than on the earlier models. I didn't take any vids but the sound from row 5 would have blown out my camera's mic.
Damn, I am still on cloud 9! Being there for a fantastic show with you two and my bro made it all the more memorable.

The crowd was awesome and many times Glenn complimented us on our singing. Priest had the place rocking even before the curtain dropped! The stage was quite low and there were no barriers and no security standing in front of us. Anyone in the front row could have simply hopped up on stage at any point. But no one did. No one tried to grab Rob or anyone else. We were quite the respectful crowd in Detroit!! Probably not what they expected and I'm sure they were prepared for the worst!
Priest came out with high energy and they never slowed down. It was great to see Rob walking around that stage and jumping up and down like he did years ago. He must be feeling so much better after having his back surgery and it shows in his performance. Rob's voice was spot on. I was afraid that maybe with the Detroit show being the 3rd in a row, it would take a toll on his voice, but it didn't and I thought he was FANTASTIC!! He has nothing left to prove in my book, yet he goes out there every night as if he has to prove just exactly WHY he is THE METAL GOD!! And he did that once again in Detroit. He also brought out the riding crop again this tour. My FAVORITE prop after the bike, although I'd like to see that whip make an appearance again! He walked along the edge of the stage at one point and gave everyone in the front row a fist bump, thanking the crowd for supporting Priest. I know that a lot of people think those are just hollow words when the band thanks the fans, but they truly do mean it from the bottom of their hearts.
Richie was fantastic as always. He is so funny and fun to watch. We kept calling him to come over to our side, but he pinched his nose and said that we "stink" over there and laughed. Later he told us that his cord didn't reach. Well, get a longer cord damn it!! I always liked it when KK and Glenn would swap sides and play a song to the other side that doesn't get to see them. They should definitely bring that back!! Glenn was incredible as always. I could watch him play for days and never get tired of it. He is the master and his solo on BTROD is my absolute favorite. The heart and soul that Glenn plays with can be felt in every single note. Ian did in fact take that couple of steps forward and played at the front of the stage on Defenders Of The Faith!! YAY IAN!! He was standing right in front of me and it was absolutely wonderful to see him up there with Glenn and Richie!! Scott was absolutely solid as always.
It was a FANTASTIC show, appreciated by all that attended. Thank you Priest for coming back to Detroit ROCK CITY!!! And a huge THANK YOU to Richie, Scott, Glenn and Ian for coming out to sign autographs for all the fans braving the cold waiting by the busses!!
