At the risk of getting judged by all the "veterans" here, I'll say my piece regarding Glenn's (not so) recent diagnosis.
My heart sank upon reading the news Monday morning, Then it really hit me earlier today. Parkinson's? Damn. That's fucked up. Terrible disease. Reading that article about the moment when Glenn realized that he couldn't perform anymore, and having to admit it, nearly brought me to tears. It's amazing, though, that despite the diagnosis, Glenn kept playing live and cranking out a couple of great albums for the past 10 YEARS, and in all the tours in which I had seen him w/ JP in the past decade, he NEVER slowed down. He NEVER faltered. He gave 110% onstage, and you could tell that his heart was in the music, in the band, and in his fans. It's practically mindblowing. Shit. He is a TRUE Metal God.
Glenn, you are amazing. As if the music you created w/ JP over the past 4 decades and your influence in the genre weren't enough, you powered through with this illness for as long as you could so that we may enjoy as much Judas Priest-style Heavy Metal with you as possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am simply not worthy.
