Oh man this thread gives off so much Moral it's unreal. J.D and Hellrider double teaming it up to give us hope of new Priest style SCREAMING HEAVY METAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLL! Title track should be called 'THE PRIEST IS BACK!' followed by such lines as: 'WE'RE HERE TO RIP OFF YOUR FACE AND SCREAM TILL YOUR BODY DISINTERGRATES' lol

This is my conception of what the impact of the next Priest studio album will be like:

HELL YEAH J.D AND HELLRIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually think Angel Of Retribution is better than Defenders Of The Faith. If I took the 5 heaviest tracks and matched them up I always like Retributions tracks better.
Judas Rising over Freewheel Burning,Deal With The Devil over Jawbreaker,Demonizer over The Sentinel,Wheels Of Fire over Love Bites,Hellrider over Heavy Duty.
And I like Eulegy over Night Comes Down and Worth Fighting For over Rock Hard Ride Free. I just think Angel Of Retribution is better than Defenders, but don't get me
wrong,I still love Defenders Of the Faith too. Theres only one track on each album I don't like: Night Comes Down and Lochness, but even with Lochness...AOR still rules!

I'm hoping that Rob and the boys see what these other "metal" bands are doing lately (like the Queensryche horror of a show that I posted in Around the Horn) and realize that METAL needs a huge shot in the arm and they give it to us. Who better to make things right again than PRIEST! I hope Priest got the concept album they always wanted to do out of their system and Rob got the Christmas album he always wanted to do out of his system and they get back into the studio and give us some Priest style SCREAMING HEAVY METAL. I honestly believe that they will.

I'm now again "afraid" of this next studio album by Judas Priest because it may very well have some Nostradamus and Winter Songs influenced into the album. If that is the case, call Joe Pesce to "dig a hole".

The next Priest CD will show the world how great Priest is!!!!
[Skybreaker] Sunday, October 11, 2009 6:58:13 PM

I hope the next Priest studio cd is much better than Nostradamus and Angel of Retribution. AOR was ok but I think the cd in general though falls short of greatness like other Priest cd's of he past. Judas Rising and Hellrider are classics and then there is a huge gap between those and  the rest of the songs. In my opinion the great Priest cd's are, Defenders, Painkiller, SFV, British Steel, HBFL and Unleashed (best live cd) in no particular order. AOR and Nostradamus falls way short of these and I hope the next cd will put them at the top of the metal heap again.

Yeah that would be awsome Hellrider!!   Yeah I have Sabbat's Dreamweaver cd....a mix between what you've posted and Painkiller would definately turn out awsome.

I just hope that the next album flows fast like magic.....like the British Steel album....the wrote, recorded and mixed it in 6 weeks!! That is absolutely crazy....but everything

clicked for that album.....I'm hoping this next LP will be finished rather quickly without sacrifice to the songwritting......an album out in September 2010 1 year from now

would be too much to ask for......as long as they don't rush the procees...if it comes to them quickly....so be it.....if not I just hope the quality song writting is 100% which I

really think it will be on this next LP.

if the next PRIEST album is heavy like  the mighty paaaaaainkillllllller IT WILL definatly be a killer album my friend in my opinion.i would like to see like to see them go just a touch heavyer for this next priest album.simular to that sabbat total rush of power heavy metal masterpiece video i posted below clerical conspiracy and mixed with paaaaainkillllller.that would definatly shake the ground.wow can you imagine the intease poooowwwwweeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Thursday, September 17, 2009 4:48:03 AM

Yah....I really think that by them doing Nostradamus....it has set them up for the next album to obviously be way heavier.....the song writting is the most important.

The atmosphere and the instruments used on the Nostradamus album I "LOVE" and the entire concept about the Nostradamus project I like...the "lyrics" that Rob

wrote for this are supurb .....its just the actual "song writting" and the actual songs that I don't really care for....I do like Calm Before The Storm and Nostradamus .....

that track is a good JP song,Persecution and a couple of other intros..ect..are alright, but there are way more tracks on the album that I really can't get into...............

There are about 22 tracks right? And I really only like about 5 of them. Its just my personal opinion and all,but it really is the actual song writting that turns me off.

If Priest's next LP is totally heavy and like Painkiller...ect...that doesn't automatically make it a killer album, but when Priest goes heavy they usually deliver the goods.

Thats what is exciting about this next record....if they decide to harken back to a Painkiller/Angel Of Retribution style....I'm almost sold on the idea that the song writting

will kick ass.....I guess Ram It Down was the only album to me that was a heavy aproach, but maybe the song writting wasn't as strong all the way through.........

.......shhhhhh, I don't want Ron H. to hear this..........lol!!  No worries Ron....I do like the Ram It Down album....

Well, if Ram it Down, Hard as Iron, Heavy Metal, Blood Red Skies, I'm a Rocker....were all leftovers-makes me wonder what all the other left overs from other discs were.  That "leftover" on the Turbo remaster edition was also pretty killer.  Priest's "left overs" I'll take!

I've known tracks off of RID were originally slated for the "Twin Turbo" double album, but not the exact tracks.  Anyone know which ones?  I know some of the drumming on that album is machine.  Anyone know the breakdown of the tracks that were left off Turbo?  Ram it Down, what an interesting album- spawned of Turbo, and yet bringing the fastest Priest songs until the very next album-Painkiller!

In anycase, I can't wait for this album.

Maybe their next album can be a bit more brutal? Has anybody heard those deep devil growls Rob does on Painkiller on A Touch Of Evil Live? I think all these nu-metallers need something real to slap them in the face. Having an album full of double bass drumming, searing guitar solos, rhythm guitaring with a sound sharp enough to slice you in pieces and a range of vocals by rob to send a chill down your spine including his strong rasp, his trademark scream and some more of this brutal devil voice he has capacity of doing.

Yes you have a very valid point here....anything is possible....maybe they will have one out in lets say September 2010...??

But we all have to count on the new album being released somewhere in the first few months of 2011...thats more acurate

I think...but I do not know this so lets see what happens and hope we get an album soon...its been almost 5 years since

Angel of Retribution was released and that was the last real heavy tradtional metal album they have  done so lets hope so!!!

Way back when, rumors were swirling that Angel of Retribution was going to be a double disc because while interviewed, they stated having enough material for two discs.  We all know it was one disc, so I'm wondering where the material went.  If it didn't end up working it's way into Nostradamus, perhaps we have a head start already.  Priest (or I think Jayne) said the reason for all that material was so they could release another album faster...
Here's hopin'!

We will "definately" have to wait a little more than a year for the new studio album SkyRider.  I predict that a new studio album

will be released between January/February of 2011.  They will NOT have a new studio album out this time next year(August 2010)

there is just no way,and not enough time for Judas Priest......now if it were Saxon? YES. They would have a new LP before next summer!! lol!

hopefully we don't have to wait a year or so for another studio album, even the touch of evil contained tracks we've all heard over and over on every other cd.

Hey folks

Of course they're gonna put out another realease, probably more, just not one every year anymore...they're a live band and love to tour, and now that Rob's back, they're not stuck playing at the Hard Rock Cafe anymore 4-5,000 seat venues are perfect...up close and personnel, not a bad seat to be had...in some places, they play much bigger venues...I believe once they put out a straight up Metal album, we're all gonna be jacked up and things will once again be right in the world again LONG LIVE PRIEST

Their sales are not so awful that, they need to quit. Remember the original band was apart for 12 years, that cost them album sales but not as much as the internet. People would rather Pirate than buy. They hurt the bands they love doing that!
Live albums are known to normally not sell that well and Priest Touch of Evil Live, still pulled down an 88 position opener in this heavily Pop infulenced culture known as USA. It was a testament to the core metal heads that came out and bought that CD.
They will do another CD, and I think we are looking at something BIG!! Hard, fast, Fullout, Metal Onslaught! They can do it and THEY Know They Can! The fire is still burning, even if the roof top is white! They Sounded BETTER!!!!! In all these years! Last Week when I saw them!!!! Sounded BETTER, than they did in 83,84! BETTER!!! Rob, I don't know what he's doing other than he's quit smoking now for over 2 years, but Oh My F*cking God! Fantastic!! In the early days, he was much more energetic, but less concerned about hitting those notes as he probably just thought, I'll do it and what they get is what they get! His voice,.........He's concentrated and fantastic, and Glenn and KK and company have never failed us!! THERE WILL BE ONE MORE!!!  IMO!

I am hoping for it.  I know they have the skill and ability to do it, its the desire that I wonder about.  if the boys dont want it, no hope.  with nost not selling that well I wonder also about the record deal, but I think they could get that done.

Thats the "key" here to thie next album......I'm sure they don't give a fuck about "critics" critisizing Nostradamus...it probably goes in one ear and comes out the other...but I know subconsciencely they hear

critics that are saying the Nostradamus album was slow and soft because maybe Priest are getting "too old".... I'll bet they hear that rather they want to or not and I'll bet they storm back into the studio

and create one hellraising blistering traditional heavy metal album to show the world they still can crush your senses with british steeled heavy metal from England!!!!

[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Wednesday, July 29, 2009 1:36:25 PM
ABSOLUTELY!!! Wait, are you trying to say that Dave didn't drum on Ram It Down??? HAHAHAHA. There is NO WAY, in my opinion, that Dave drummed on Hard As Iron, which is one of my favorite tracks - way too fast for him and not his style. I remember reading an interview with him a long time ago and they asked him how much he drummed on Ram It Down and he said, "Very little". I LOVE the way Scott drums, I could watch him for hours.... he's amazing to me.

Along the lines of Studio Albums, I'd love to have "RAM IT DOWN" re-issued with Scott on drums (I believe it'd be a completely better album, myself, I dislike the drum machine . . ) The rest of the album, with Rob - Glenn - KK - Ian, is phenominal, I'd just love to hear what'd it sound like with Scott on drum duty.  Anyone agree with that?

Next Priest album will be one hell of an inferno!!!!
[JT_Small_Deadly_Space] Tuesday, June 23, 2009 7:29:18 AM
Well obviously they wanted to release some stuff from Angel of Retribution live and lets face it they did 2 of the best tracks from the album on Rising in the East so that's why they have went back to it. However i agree most of the stuff they performed this and last year year was way better than in 2005 but they probably didn't record every show and maybe because they were recording a DVD already (Rising in the East), the sound might be far superior to any other recordings they have of those tracks. It is a shame cause i know Halford has done Painkiller way better than on RITE and i hope they decide to change this version (which they won't) but its not the strongest in all honesty is it. Still liking the set list of songs that aren't from RITE, they sound great especially Death.

I just hope that this isnt Rising in the East Repackeged with some songs from 2008. Its makes me wonder why they included stuff from 2005. Their 2008 live stuff is far superior, hmmmmm.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, June 20, 2009 7:19:16 PM
Yeah I don't know either!  The Painkiller version on the new live Touch Of Evil is the one from Rising In the East ,I've heard at least....

The only thing that is bad about the live Painkiller is Halford's signature Painkiller "scream" in the middle of the song right before the solo....

He sounds like Elmo being gagged and drowned!! LOL! I love Halford anyways man....."Hey Rob"...if you are reading this....I'm just taking the piss!!  LOL!

Sounds good J.D. plus a couple of oldies but goodies, Rob can still sing. I must say he did Painkiller better in 2008. Why didn't they put that on there.

I say leave the "War Of Words" and "Ripper era" out of the picture and Halford solo albums too.....just give us traditional heavy metal like Angel Of Retribution!

[Screamin' Demon] Saturday, June 20, 2009 1:11:08 AM
They should do something along the lines of Painkiller, War Of Words & Angel Of Retribution, maybe slide in a bit of the Ripper era style into it. Give it heavier drums with lots more double bass, searing guitars and that heavy driving rhythm, screaming vocals by Rob and lots of bass too. I remember reading in the Heavy Metal Painkillers book the title of the chapter about Jugulator being Painkiller times two?? Yeah right hahaha. Well, I think all us fans DO want the next album to be Painkiller times two. Songs such as Painkiller, All Guns Blazing, Metal Meltdown, One Shot At Glory, Judas Rising, Hellrider and Death would be good.
[icecreamman] Thursday, June 18, 2009 8:40:39 PM
For Painkiller on the new lve album, it sounds like it NEEDS some touchups. It should be tittled "Elmo Killer " LOL

You are right JD, Unleashed is unbeatable, Halford has admited to some touch ups.... but there was not that many. He had the flu that night I belive....
