You know, I would have said exactly the same about the halftime acts until Tom Petty. I thought he was pretty damn good (whatever year that was when he recently played). No nonsense sort of show without any annoying hip-hop or people dangling from cables. I would have said the same about Prince too ... until he pulled that "what the HELL is he doing with that guitar throwing shadows behind the screen act?!" I swear, he went from a "damn, look at Prince go!" to "aw crap, what a loon!" in a span of 15 minutes.

Who can see this and not say WTF?! I'll even take a Janet "malfunction" over this nonsense anyday.

I skipped it, too! And I did so by working the thing that's as bad as a halftime performance: FAST FOOD! Yet I must thank the SB for happening cos I only worked 3 hours (Got home right after the Haltime show ended) but work was slow as hell.

Look, I'll say it here like I said it to the local classic rock station here in Minnesota: FORGET THE HALFTIME SHOW DURING THE SUPER BOWL FROM NOW ON! Apparently, no matter who plays, everyone has something to complain about! No act is ever good enough. The only good acts to ever happen is if we went back in time and took the Rock / Metal scene from the '70s and '80s and let them perform now-adays... Since everyone likes to complain how bad they are all these years later... But hey, the classic rock station here suggested AC/DC.

I've wanted to see the Priest play, but I hope they don't degrate themselves by accepting the offer... The halftime show is a joke...

Was that better or worse than the Black Eyed Peas halftime show? Hard to tell, IMO. What the hell were those box-headed dancers doing on stage?

Just when I was thinking to myself: "man, am I sick of GnR in a football game," here comes Slash with Fergie trying to sing like Axl. Yuck.

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your gf's mom must have realized after a while just how important you were to her very survival.

I'm also gonna get older this month...22 years old in 18 days. As far as memories go, my mom always talks about the time when I used to cut in line (several times) to get into my favorite roller-coaster ride at a carnival. I was five years old at that time. I guess it's a good thing that I don't remember it at all.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Mr. Dave Genocide from Monday, January 31, 2011 3:02:31 PM)

Ahahaha.. No, I don't believe so.. I'm only 5' 11" and roughly back down to 150 lbs. (I lost like 20 lbs the last few months), but I don't believe I can fit under the bed!

And I just got done watching the report on MTV News when Halford came out  about being gay (almost 13 years ago now) and I loved one of the quotes a fan left, "Who cares if he's gay? If he sang on the last Judas Priest record (Jugulator), maybe it wouldn't have sucked."

The blood sucking leaches known as the power company. My bill was SKY high this month! In the 8 years I have lived here my electric bill mid winter has increased by 100%. Funny, I don't recall adding an addition to my humble abode? What robbing bastards! The biggest recession in ages and they just had to be sure to screw us all. Today, I noticed they put a self promotional add on TV saying how they have cut back on expenses and staff just to accomdate us?? I think all they did was change their name from APCO to BENDOVER.

Dave,  that really sucks that Slash wasn't there! But I saw on Ozzy's website that the two makeup dates were before the tour with Slash started and that Slash wouldn't be there. That seems shitty though, they should have done the makeup shows when they had an opening band.  Glad you really enjoyed Ozzy though! I really wish the critics would get the fuck off his back too. He's never been the greatest singer in the world but he puts on a HELL of a show. He is an incredible showman and he is up there getting as crazy as the fans are. We thought he kicked ass too, even when he was sick.

Saw Ozzy Osbourne Live for the first time here in Minneapolis on Wednesday.. Won Suite tix off the radio. Oh yeah, remember me telling you this before? Yeah, funny story... Slash pulled an Axl and didn't show up, so no Halford, no Slash, NO OPENER... Ozzy did 2 hours of material (ok, he left a few songs off the list that he performed in other cities) but the fucking critics wont get off his back because "he couldn't hit the same notes time after time..." He's fucking 62 and still can kick fucking ass, cos like he said, "Vampires are pussies! I'm the Prince of Fucking Darkness!" Fucking hate hate HATE critics! Sure, the fucking turnout was only 6000 people (yet they said it was sold out, and I saw many sections enpy)... and that pissed me off, but it was still loud as fukkk and I loved every second of the show! The Oz man lives!

Hopefully someone may get some good out of your post. Destructive lifestyles hurt more than just the person, they hurt the ones
around them also. I haven't lived a perfect life but I gave up alcohol and I don't take anything I know I may end up addicted to. I may not
be the one to tell others they shouldn't do something but posts like yours may open their eyes to the harm they are causing. Sorry about

Just got a call to tell me that my uncle has pretty much drunk himself to death. He is in hospital with terminal liver cancer and damage. His heart is full of fluid because his liver is screwed and one by one his organs are packing up. What pisses me off is that this is totally self inflicted and now his wife, kids and grandkids are the ones left to suffer. So cruel. So preventable.

I want to thank every single person who had anything to say to me. Yesterday was the hardest part, it should be better from here on out.
I miss the dude like crazy and still can't believe he's gone but he is and there's nothing I can do but move forward. Every single day of this
New Year has sucked. Anger, death, migraines, sickness. I have no choice but to put this behind me. I need to get better mentally and physically.
This will be my last post on anything related to this subject. Here's what's next. My brother called me today and said he went to my uncle's
house and got my mothers ashes. He wants me to take some and help him decide what to do with the rest. Are you serious??? Now!!!
It sucks so bad lately it's becoming comical.

I don't know, she sounds a bit freaked out. How well do you know her and is this normal behaviour for her. any possiblilty she's abusing her meds as well? I think judging anyone in any situation is never good but don't speak to her if she's just going to upset you. If you feel you can speak to her and then not take what she has to say personally then go ahead but if it is going to cut then don't  speak to her just yet.

The viewing was from 1:00pm  to 5:00pm with a get together planned afterwards. My wife called his fiance the night
before to let her know we would be there later in the afternoon and go to the gathering after. We show up at around
4pm and there is a group of people on the side porch/entrance of the funeral home. We start to walk to the front entrance
when I hear someone say "It's about time you guys showed up". Mortified I turned around to see his fiance staring at us.
I couldn't even respond and just threw my hands up like "what". She waits a couple of seconds and then smiles and said "I
was kidding" ."Just a dark sense of humor today". I just looked at my wife and we started back towards the front. Then
she yells that she has to talk to me at the gathering and tell me something. I didn't even speak to her inside and didn't go
to the gathering because of her "JOKE". Now all I can think of is what did she want to tell me? Did I over-react?

Any opinions?

Melvins were a big influence on a lot of bands in the grunge scene such as Nirvana ( Kurt Cobain tried out for them back in the day but didn't get in ) and also the underground metal scene. They are nothing like Priest / Maiden / Metallica etc and definately not everyones cup of tea. I saw them opening for Fugazi back in about 1997 and they were just awesome live. Last time they were over here that I know of they were opening for Tool in 02. I missed that show but again I heard they were awesome. The great thing about this show is that they are going to be playing at a bar rather than a concert hall so it will be easy access to stage and bar. As for the outfits, who knows, last time I saw them they were wearing jeans and tshirts. Here is High On Fire, the other band on the bill.

Maybe it's just me JJ but they are not fabulous in any way. Good, yes.......I do like the way the drummers keep in time. The outfits look like a  band that would play at the Star Trek convention.  Feeling only medium to them.

Queens Of The Stone Age are playing in Wellington on the same night as the Melvins/High On Fire gig. We don't get too many bands down here so this scheduling really sucks as I would have gone to both shows if I could. As it happens I already have tix for the Melvins/High On Fire so I will be sticking with that. Still gutted though.

Then your a wise man. You know that you have a tendency to drugs that induce pleasure/anethesia. You avoided the meds that would cause that. You could have taken mega ammounts of Ibuprofen, which will actually do the same thing, only it's hard on the liver to process.
Most Dr.'s are honest, they have to be. To be found guilty of perscription fraud is to loose the license they went to school for years to get.
Sure, there are crooked Dr.'s. need look no further than Michael Jackson's personal physician giving him a drug that should only be used for surgery. They are willing to risk their license for this. Most of those Dr.'s are pill heads themselves so they "feel" for the addict. Bad medicine.

I understand that the individual is more responsible than the Dr. but  there are too many of them writing prescriptions just to have patients.
I've never worked in a Dr.'s office so in no way do I claim to know more than anyone else on this subject. The only thing I know is what I see
and I can tell you that way too many people are doing and have access to pills. I personally know one person who gets Oxycontin for knee pain.
That's for cancer patients not knee pain. Pain pills in this area are so plentiful that it's obvious they are being over-prescribed. Dr. shopping
surely is part of it but too many Dr.'s only concerned with a buck has to be part of it also. Ultimately you can only blame the person. I'm so glad
I never got into that shit. I didn't even take meds after a hernia operation for fear of addiction. I layed on a couch for three days, sometimes crying
from the pain, sometimes wishing I was dead it was so bad but I didn't touch those f*ckin' pills.

[spapad] Saturday, January 08, 2011 1:13:11 PM
The quiet train of addiction has been going on for years.  The biggest problem is, those who are prescribed those drugs start to abuse them. Then one Dr. is not enough, they go to a new Dr. with same complaints and get more drugs. Muliple Dr.'s  prescribing the same drug. Now, there's the problem. I know this to be true because I work in the healthcare industry. I have worked in private practice, and some files are flagged by the Dr. as "No more pain drugs/sleep drugs" for this person. It had become obvious to the physician that the drugs were being abused.
Dr. shopping is the biggest problem in regard to perscription drugs.

Prescription pain pills and the doctors handing them out. I don't know about the rest of the world but around
here it's a freakin' epidemic. Take 50 dollars, go to a doctor and tell him something hurts. He'll start you off with
something mild, just tell him the next time that it didn't do the trick, that you need something stronger. After that
you'll be on your way to addiction. Monthly visits to your dealer, I mean doctor and your good to go. He's happy,
he's making money, your happy, even if it's chemically, and no one gets hurt. Until you die that is, then everyone's
hurt, except the doctor because there's hundreds of other idiots behind you doing the same thing. WTF!!! If law
enforcement wants to stop this they got to get the doctors under control. This shit is out of hand. I'm sorry, I had to rant.
Take care all and stay away from these f*cking pills.

Hellrider I ordered  Made of Metal from the Halford site and the first time, it didn't seem to work, and the second time, it didn't seem to work. I got zero confirmation emails, but come the day of release I recieved two Made of Metal CDs. Good thing Flora liked it so I didnt' have to return the extra.
Same actually happened with the British Steel release too. Got two of those, with no confirmation on site or email.
So, expect two shirts some time in the near future.

@ Hellrider.. My mate forgot to lube his shorts yesterday and this morning when we were doing our core strength training he was like... 'ooh, those shorts ate my butt' lol Glad it's not just me.

@Vail it really sucks having a stiff neck.. Craig is walking around funny today he slept odd or something and he also has a stiff neck.

Prolly best not to turn the site into Jaws - "look at THIS scar" - with my own stories but, believe me, I feel your pain.

Lol yes.. a very unwelcome hazard. This one pair of shorts really just hates me. After an unlubed ride it cut in one place and then I got to gym to do a spin class and we decided to hit the treadmill for an hour and er.. I was wearing the same shorts but wasn't 'prepaired'. I got home and decided a nice soak in the bath.. Soon as my hiney touched the water I catapulted straight out again with a howl that would scare a lone wolf. Craig saw it and was like 'Whoa! Your ass looks really bad!' I forgot about the saddle sore and turned around to thump him when he added 'that must be hurting like hell' lol.. Talk about how fights get started over miscommunication lol.

And to add insult to injury this morning I was overtaken by a runner... I was on my mountain bike... he just breezed past not even breaking a sweat. He was very pro though and his coach drove past behind h im so we decided that it wasn't so bad lol.

I've ridden my ass off (literally) forgot to lube up for one ride and one run and now bam! Have a nice open flesh wound on my ass.. It sux! Just went to the beach and my bikini bottom line was rubbing against it. I didn't notice until I went for a pee and the scab got pulled clean off. Back to square one with the healing process again. Curse you cycling shorts! Curse you!!

HAAAA!!! Fine ideas, one and all but wiring it up would be about 1/4+ run to my house. Nope. No juice. Now a sniper rifle and camo both seem to be plentiful around here. What is the rule? Drag the corpse into the house after or is just rolling him onto my property good enough?

Actually, I think your card would have survived! Can you come and tape my mailbox back together?

Maybe you should get a metal box and wire it.  At night, cut on the current, cut it off in the mornig. A sudden horrible jolt may make hillbilly Santa think twice about fucking with your official U.S. Postal Service Mail Recepticle. Thank god this did not happen a day or so before because my card would have been in such jeopardy that my tape could not have helped it!  I think you need a tank mailbox, capable of defending it'self. Do they make those yet?

Well, I had already cleaned up the debris (which was impressive in and of itself) but take a look at this direct hit! Looks like we have the next Babe Ruth living in the area. I am really surprised that this has only happened twice, really. Once when some drunk hit the pole itself knocking it out into the opposite lane of the road. Look at that sucker! That is no small pole and it is held in place by who knows how many lbs of concrete. THAT made me laugh as you could see his skidmarks go right from that massive wooden structure through the fence across the street. Ho ho!

I'll try to get a shot of the really impressive hit down the street. Guys would have been taking their lives in their hands around here turning around for a second go but, man, you aren't kidding about looking for a body part. It looks like they used a metal pole from the dent in cast iron one down the street and I wouldn't be surprised to find a finger in the ditch.

Check out what my closest neighbor did to protect his mailbox. Still, all that and they still whacked out some of the brickwork.

Could have been a backswing, or maybe they just turned around and came at it from the opposite side. Was there any snow angel/dead body type marks near the nieghbor's iron box? Seems like a hit like that would knock the swinger straight out of the truck and on his ass.

I'll be looking to be amused by the shrapnel picture later.

Yeah, a bunch. While mine is just one of those plastic suckers, they must have backswung at a cast-iron expensive sucker down the street. Put a helluva dent in it! I say it was a backswing as the dent was on the opposite side from the trajectory of the plastic debris field I just had to go pick up!

I am about off to the gym. I'll take the camera and snap a shot of mine for public amusement later!
