yeah, thats good too. a hot dish, if called for that I like is honey garlic wings. equal parts honey and light soy sauce, and a bunch of rough choped garlic in a pot. put wings in to simmer for 20 min (roughly) they will look a dark dark red. easy and tasty, reheats well.
since that much honey is expensive, I freeze and reuse the sauce next time, just top it up a bit each time [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Becks from Friday, April 03, 2009 3:58:28 PM) | | Becks wrote: | | Good idea HB. Bah, not getting house guests anymore. The camp housing area is too far from the area of camp they need to be in, which is true. This camp is much bigger than any other. Still a bit stink, all on my lonesome again. Ok, off I go to soak my road-ridden bones. Happy entertaining (and buy some new running shoes!!). | | Becks wrote: | | Oh yes, lorikeets are extremely loud and they know it, LOL!
Waiting for my house guests to arrive. Cheeky friends of my husbands, it's the army logisitics corps sports week up here and they asked if they could stay cos they didn't want to sleep in a tent for a week LOL! | | guidogodoy wrote: | | A lorikeet is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Like a cockatoo, though, they do get kinda loud (lesser degree of Fred). Almost got one when I went to get Kiko. Got her from an avian rescue place and the owner brought the lorikeet out. Splayed leg and I didn't think I could handle her. LOVELY, though!
Talking about the needs of the birds, though. Kiko will pout if I don't give her a headrub before she sleeps.
Ok, enough of this....I could go on with birds forever! | | Becks wrote: | | Awww that is awesome! Pets that interact with you are so much fun. My last experience with a bird was a rainbow lorikeet at the pet shop who decided he wanted to sit on my shoulder and play with my hair and clean my ears LMAO! So cute. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Ah they are lovely, Becks. Kiko has been my best friend for some 10 years.
Once someone asked me...what does she (they, really, as I also have Fred) do? Dumb freakin' question. They are smarter than the dogs, communicate better and are also creatures used to companionship. Kiko screeches when I am not in the room and Fred, well, he is a handfull. Talks! Makes a big difference. Especially at 6am. "Hello Fred!" First greeting of every day....

I feel sad at one lorikeet that was the prettiest thing in the pet store. Bought an brought BACK more times than I actually know. All because of people who fell in love with him in the store but didn't do any research to know that the are LOUD! Felt so sorry for the poor thing as he was SOOO sweet.
Ok, off I go to soak my road-ridden bones. Happy entertaining (and buy some new running shoes!!). [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Becks from Thursday, April 02, 2009 7:16:48 PM) | | Becks wrote: | | Oh yes, lorikeets are extremely loud and they know it, LOL!

Cheeky friends of my husbands, it's the army logisitics corps sports week up here and they asked if they could stay cos they didn't want to sleep in a tent for a week LOL! | | guidogodoy wrote: | | A lorikeet is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Kiko screeches when I am not in the room and Fred, well, he is a handfull. Talks! Makes a big difference. Especially at 6am. "Hello Fred!" First greeting of every day....

I cant live without my kitties.. they are my kids... I have really bad allergies too, mine are mostly pollen, dust, mold ect..
Iam sure Iam some-what allergic to my cats,, but I will not give them up.. They are starting to shed right now, and Bowie is goin in for a hair cut on Monday... His usual shave down.. his fur molts, and knots I brush and brush him. bu it just knots up to close to the skin.. So I will be giving him his spring time bavid bowie spike haircut... Pictures to follow of course next week.. GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE! BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY HERE IN NEW YORK. TOOK A WALK AND IN LOWER MANHATTAN AND WANDERED INTO A RECORD STORE. PURCHASED UNLEASHED IN THE EAST. HAD IT ON VINYL BUT ONLY ALBUM I NEVER REPLACED ON CD. ROBS VOICE IS PERICEING. EVERY SONG JUST BLOWS YOU AWAY. TOOK ME BACK TO THE DAYS WHEN THERE WAS NO LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT AND BREAKING THE LAW. THERE WERE TYRANTS AND RIPPERS AND SINNERS, GENOCIDE. GREAT STUFF.
GOOD LUCK TONIGHT SOY. PLEASE BEAT US. IT WILL HELP US STAY AT THE BOTTOM AND JUST AS IMPORTANT, KNOCK THE RANGERS DOWN A SLOT. ALTHOUGH FIRST ROUND MATCHUPS OF RANGERS - DEVILS AND BOSTON - MONTREAL WOULD BE NICE. PITTSBURGH - PHILLY AND WASHINGTON - CAROLINA.
I'LL BE PULLING FOR PITTSBURGH IN THE PLAYOFFS. IF THEY WIN THE ISLANDERS GET MUCH BETTER COMPENSATION FOR BILL GUERRIN. |

Yeah, 3 months after surgery i went and saw Maiden... Know why i only saw 2 songs.... I was elbowed in the jaw and was worried it might be broken so i moved back a few rows. I couldn't see much. Still... loved being there! |

Girls I hope it goes well for Flora when she has it done. Her jaw litterally gets hung up right now every now and again. She has TMJ, one side of her mouth's teeth are wearing harder than the other side as well. So it has to be done. DC, why on earth did they not give you your codien in liquid form makes zero sense at all! I myself cant take codien. I get really messed up and ultimately puke! Thank god, my mouth isn't wired shut! Wish I could avoid this surgery it's going to cost a whole lot of money but it seems it's necessary. OUCH DC! How awful!
When I had my teeth out not only was there the infection but my jawbone became inflammed I couldn't eat normally for 3 weeks and lost like 5kg. So yeah, weight goes bye bye when you've had jaw problems/surgery! Fingers crossed your daughters surgery, when it happens, is without any major problems, Spa! All the way down to the root?!?! That must have been excrutiating! There's rarely anything worse than tooth pain - I had my bottom two wisdom teeth removed last year, both got dry socket and infections and oh my goodness I have never been in so much pain. Stupid dental surgeon gave me no after care instructions at all, so I was at home and at work bawling I was in so much pain but had no idea what was going on. I empathise totally with anyone who gets a tooth problem! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Tuesday, March 31, 2009 5:02:44 PM) | | J.D. With our trip coming up next week, we had to get it taken care of quickly.
Our friend is a professor of dentistry and oral surgery at UNLV (local university). LONG time family friend. He actually removed her Wisdom teeth when she was 19!!!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT guy and a comfort to know, I can assure you. Anyway, it is all over now and all she needs to do is rest. I will pass along all the wonderful sentiments. She will truly appreciate them. |
