Its a fuckin joke. Even though Painkiller remains the heaviest Priest album(along with Jugulator)
its obvious already that they intend to "leave PK the heaviest lp in thier discography".
They chose to do this,so what I say!!!
They are making (or already made I should say) Redeemer Of Souls stand up with its own sound identity like they do with every album.
There are "11" songs left on the album still to listen to...if one is an instrumental,then yeah we still have 10 more tracks to check out and study...

march of the damned is a good riff-laden piece of music with a pretty darn good solo, as for rob.....;.... exiled from nostradamus is one of the best songs off of that album IMO, i like the way rob sings in a controlled subdued manner yet projects so much power!!,march of the damned reminds of that sublelty a hint of whats to come later,l;ike when the song alone follows the mellow tones of exiled and then hits that AAAAALONE and proceeds to get a little heavier with a more pronounced scream !, this is what the band does best, experimentation, trys something new , a new look ,a new sound and i am glad they arent a formulaic band that just regurgitates what they have done before. .

VERY well-stated, HRMG. Exactly how I feel about Rob's voice and other bands. Driving home from the airport the other day, for example, they play some old Maiden on the Boneyard. I remember thinking back to the time when I thought that they were good. Same for Metallica. Both just get so damn predictable that it bores me to high heaven. Best Metallica song of late? Cover of their Dio tribute "mashup." Then again, it was a cover....

Yeah, you know that I like Nostra (obviously some tracks over others as I do have that "filter" that fanboys/girl often lack) but am ready for some classic Priest!!!

HRMG yes you are right,if Metal Gods were released today people would be calling it weak and how it has no fucking power like Redeemer Of Souls track....its ridiculous....
Head Banger and I were also discussing how if Some Heads Are Gonna Roll were released today same thing HRMG.....people would bitch .

You are right about people bitching. I was on the JP facebook page and there were a ton of people bitching that March of the Damned isn't fast/heavy enough and Rob sounds like Ozzy, blah.... blah..... blah.....
I think it's hilarious to read some of the stupid shit people write. I swear, some people are NEVER SATISFIED!! I think about one of the Priest classics like Metal Gods and if that song were released today, these idiots would say it sucks because it isn't heavy/fast enough!!

I LOVE these 2 tracks so far and YES.... for those who wanted "Painkiller part 2" well this "sound" actually sounds NOTHING like Painkiller besides the similarities between Tedeemer Of Souls and Hell Patrol,but it still doesnt "sound" like it should be on the Painkiller lp....I prefer the Redeemer Of Souls track over the mighty Hell Patrol he he!

Yes,being a Priest FAN and claiming them being my #1 fav band since 1981....I feel that my opinions are worthy too as I too know what "classic Priest" should sound like and holy shit HRMG....this is it!!! The Priest are BACK!!!

They should have released this song first. At least this one sounds like they were trying to be heavy. Songs like this will make me like this CD, the other song makes me not even want to hear it. I pray it is more in the vain of the second song. As for the new sound I'm not sure I ever ask for anything but that except that it be heavy so if it doesn't sound like "Painkiller" I think that's great.
