Yeah, I do agree that their sound was poor. I do not know why. I guess that maybe their sound person is not very good? I mean, I do not know for sure but I assume that each act has their own sound engineers? Naturally, it would follow that the better acts would be able to afford better sound. So many people do not give proper credit to sound engineers. It is an art!! Not just anyone can sit in front of a soundboard and do it well!!!  Same goes for mixing an album or even a song. That is why the big acts like Priest seek out the BIG name producers.!

Well the singer apparently got laryngitis and couldn't perform that night but would be able to play the next show. I was dissapointed, as well as many others, but I wouldn't let that bother me because I KNOW Priest will put an absolutely awesome show worth the money anyway. I usually don't let things like that upset me and I just said "Damn, that sucks. Oh well it would have been a nice bonus." Yes but for me and my friends they really wanted to see JP and they got a great show and then some. Pop Evil..... Didn't impress me or my friends though, I'm not sure if it was the sound system or they just set up lasily but they sucked, to put it bluntly. Besides I still had a great weekend and we all had fun. I knew it was a good idea to visit the giant mall before the concert.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Monday, August 10, 2009 1:07:38 PM)

What do you mean, "Whitesnake didn't show"..???!?!?!?!?!? Are you saying that the band just did NOT perform?? Did not show up?? What the hell happened?? If you paid for THREE bands and did not GET three, I should think a refund (or partial refund) would be in order??!!!!!  How do you just NOT show up for work????

Hello Blah folk!

What an amazing monday! It was a public holiday today so we have had a rather vegetative weekend lol. Involving loads of sleep, lying in bed reading until wee hours of the morning and then not having to worry about getting up to get kids to school etc.. Every once in a while this is so needed!~

Tomorrow my car goes in for repairs finally! They eventually tracked down the spare part that needs replacing and are ready for me. I sense another fantastic week coming up ahead. I'm starting to believe more and more in the philosophy that life is truly what we make of it.

BEV!!! So good to see you back! how are you? I hope you are doing well you stop by so seldom that it's always great to see you here xxxx

And I thought they were awesome last year! Holy crap this was great! How is everyone else to start this week? I noticed Freeze had an awesome time too, if ya there give me a holler man!

So then it really IS Monday, isn't it? Aaaarrrgghhh!! I am dealing with one of the "residual effects" of going to a concert....INSOMNIA brought on by a bout with extreme pain that simply will NOT leave me be!!! *ugh*  Barely 3:30 in the morning and here I am.

Morning everyone! Another lovely day here.
It's so awesome to hear what a great time you and the young prince had Freeze!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Sunday, August 09, 2009 5:22:06 PM
LOL!  Like Guido just said.... Great to hear Freeze, that totally rocks man!!  Yeah I think the younger kids just don't "expect" someone that is 61 years old(Glenn Tipton)

to come out on stage and kick your ass and totally BLOW AWAY all the bands the kids are currently listening too...I think that when they see and hear it live they feel the

power that is "Heavy Metal"...and just hearing it on CD is not enough,...they must witness it live and when they do they realize that it is "strong" and then they can see

why we have been raving about these guys(Judas Priest) our whole lives!!!!  Thats totally priceless Freeze!!!

HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thanks, Val!!   Well strat, I would LOVE to drop by for a glass of iced tea and perhaps some local cuisine but I am not much of a missionary. I do not have the patience required when some numbskull insists that Britney Spears is a legitmate musical talent...... HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

I have to admit, taking in more than one show on the current tour does have an advantage or two. I can see why the diehards among us go to several shows. There is a kind of strange sense of "knowing" when you have already seen the show before. I knew what to expect, what to look for and when to be sure the lad was really paying attention. The look on his face when I told him, "Here comes a great ROB HALFORD scream", was priceless!! HAAAAAAAAAAAA!! He was focused directly on Rob at the end of VoC and whatnot. GREAT time!!!!!!  Pfff!  Black Eyed Peas, indeed!!!!   HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

Want to come over here? I have a neighbour who needs to be educated. For some reason playing metal all day with open windows just doesnt do it.

Lol! I just have to share this... When I read the title, I thought that it was just a spoof, but this is obviously serious, so I can only congratulate the guy!

[Deep Freeze] Sunday, August 09, 2009 10:15:47 AM
Thanks, guys. It truly was as magical as I say. The Prince could not stop yakking about it ALL the way home!! HA!!!!!!!!!!! Kept saying, "DUDE! That was AMAZING!!" over and over!! HAAAHAHAHAHA!!! I have often read that this happens when we finally get the younger folks to a Priest show but to actually see it happening was a rare treat for me. I am not used to being around kids in the first place so this is quite an experience for ME as well!! HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Will the lad actually turn away from Hollister shirts and "Pop" music?? I cannot say. I think there are far too many forces at work in a young person's life and since he is entering high school this year, it is likely he will try desperately to "fit in".. I do not know with certainty that Priest will be a part of that BUT I am encouraged. While we were at the show, he kept receiving texts and sending pics to his inquiring friends. I guess that Metal is not all THAT bad in the eyes of the young.  With a little luck.................

I know what you mean. It's facinating to find out but not really a pivot in time. Just cool for your own knowledge! like My Great Great  grandfater was called Joseph " the Huganaut" (sp) Hare. But he was an Indian Maurader and My  Great Grandmother was a full blooded Cheerokee.  So the thing he fought against, was married into the family. Why the hell the faught the indians instead of just living in areas the indians were not I will never understand. To this day a plow blade layed on this land will turn up arrowheads easy.

Hey Ron!
Now if you want to talk about that kind of crap, as far as who settled where, I do know by my family tree I am eligible for the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the Confederacy. I've not joined either of these associations although I was sent invitation to it by my family member doing the work on my family tree. I don't care about that shit. It's cool to read about, but who the hell really cares! Not me! otherwise I'd be a southern lady of culture! HAAAAAAAAA!!!We don't see that happening do we!! HA!!!

Hi Spa!!

That's cool y'all know this stuff about your families.  I know my ancestors came by boat to America, but when is a mystery to me.  My family tree is a bit sketchy, but I know my namesake came by boat in the 1600's (the first Hartsells') but can't say if they're my paricular line.

Yeah I do find that too... I don't have to worry about traffic at the early hours of the morning.... and in the afternoon it's still quiet and I can come home do washing and settle in for the night quite easy.
I'm going to request staying on the mon-fri roster... weekends do have extra pay rates, but I do like a solid routine.. just going to play it as it goes I guess... it's not forever so I keep that in mind.

It's funny how the bed is so much more comfortable in the morning than it is going to sleep...I've been getting up at 4 for 4 straight years now, and now that I'm in a routine, I find that the early mornings, when things are still quiet is quite peaceful, and I've learned to enjoy the calm before the storms of the day...maybe you'll get to a point where you'll warm up to it...but if you're gonna start working shifts, that is horrible on the body...

HAHA!!!!! I have to do that too....... I keep hitting snooze then end up rushing to work... hate it! The only thing that gets me out of bed is the thought of money and that first hot coffee......

Oh, I hear ya!!  I have to keep my alarm clock where I have to actually get out of bed to shut it off.  Otherwise I'll keep hitting the snooze, and that won't work for me either

I've only got the one tattoo so far..... plan on getting alot more  .... I know what you mean about getting up and gettng going...... it's hard. I set my alarm for 4:20 but need that extra 10 to completely wake up before I dare sit up... and being winter it makes it that little more difficult.

Yeah some of it you just have to try and block out, sometimes I feel like i'm not there... like i'm someone else when I'm at work..... At the end of the week alot of them go home which is good to see, but it is hard at times not to be affected by it. Music helps..... I just escape into it at the end of the day and try to remember that sickness is part of life, as much as it sucks.

I can imagine some stuff would be very difficult to see, DC. Sick children is one of the saddest things, but working with them would be very rewarding in that you are doing your part to help them on the road to recovery.

That's a job well worth doing! Gives you the chance to see things you would not normall even think about. I work as a secretary in a nusring home and sometimes it's amazing the things I see happen, and sometimes very sad. But all well worth seeing as it is life I normally would not be exposed to .
