Have to agree that's pretty cool as well...along the same lines I have posted before, but here's mine...on any other site I'm a member of, I use names like 'priestfan' while playing on-line poker or chess, or if someone else has it I'll use 'mmpriestfanmm'...so I figured when I joined here, why not be myself?? I know I already wrote about my online name, but it's been a long time.
So...why my online name? Simple. There was a book I used to read quite often when I was in high school. It was called "Death Comes for the Archbishop" by Willa Cather. One of the main characters in that book was named Joseph Vaillant, a friend of the main character. I always thought Vaillant's last name was pretty cool, and just thought about using it as an online name. The 3.0 part came from the fact that AOL used to give itself so many upgrades during the late 1990's (AOL 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, etc.). I thought those commercials were kinda neat...so a mixture of both and...voila!! My online name!! |

How that could possibly be missed is beyond me, but I digress.
We are a family. We do not, nor should we ever, allow the stupidity of racism or any other hate (yes, I said hate) to come among us or, WORSE, be acknowledged. We cannot control the ignorance of others, but we can stand high above it. We shall not be soiled. |

BUT, WE do not allow color, religion, race or country of origin to shadow what it means to be a "true" fan. Accordingly, WE do not see things so simply and WE choose to take a more "enlightend" and eclectic approach to our lives.
I will always be "proud" of my heritage. Moreover, I am proud to be part of such a widely diverse group. We have broken the bonds of ignorance and embraced all. Truth be told, unless you are an American Indian, you are NOT of this land. You are an immigrant. Whether that be of white, European heritage or black, Hispanic, Asian or anything else.
We shall not be soiled. |

...I'm sorry if I seemed to come on a little strong, I can be like that sometimes...but I am not angry or anything, nor do I think you and Guido were defending him...we all have a right to be here and our opinions are what makes us different from each other...and agree or not, I do respect all opinions (or at least the person making them)...this actually is good conversation about a very real issue and what ppl from different cultures have to say about it...I truly do find that aspect of it very interesting...and you are right on the mark as far as becoming "what we are criticizing"... If he has such "discriminating" tastes he could've just called himself "Picky"...
I am also interested in figuring out this guy's favorites as far as music and art is concerned. He doesn't seem to be directly attacking anyone here except for the city of San Diego and the celebrities he wants to see go away. Besides, it's not everyday one gets to meet a "white nationalist"... |
