That's understandable, my first JP album was "Hell Bent For Leather" and really loved it and then "Unleashed In The East". Later on I got "Stained Class" and wasn't very impresed so I see what you're saying.

Ozzy was stoned as usual and didn't sound fantastic but it was a good show. I didn't know anything about Randy Rhoads
so I'm not going to say how great he was but I do remember thinking this guy is pretty good. I had tickets to see them the
following summer but of course that never happened.

I'm with you, HB. Perhaps the timing but I was into Pyromania first as well. Timing had everything to do with it as it was the dawn of MTV (back when they actually played videos). I even had a Union Jack sleeveless shirt. Never went as far as the shorts, though. Ah, memories....
Not to take anything away from High and Dry, though. Have the LP right in front of me, in fact. Sitting on top of all my LPs in a corner. Album cover always made me wonder why they couldn't find more balding white men for the front and back instead of just repeating the image of the four of so guys that are actually posing. GREAT album. Joe Elliot actually had black curly hair back then!

I remember back when "High n Dry" was released a friend of mine came by to show me his new car and that was blasting on the stereo and I was blown away with it. Loved that album. Then they released "Pyromania" and I rushed out to get it and what a let down that was. Kind of like when Point Of Entry was released after British Steel. I thought that was Def Leppard at their best. It was their first U.S. tour in support of "High N' Dry" which is my favorite album by them.
I thought they were going to be a metal band after the first two albums but then they did Pyromania and you could sense a difference in direction.

This is the first vocalist that I like so much, because at my happy days (childhood) my great heavy metal first album was Blizzard of Ozz . And knew that at first and second albums played Randy Rhoads.
