as I read the news stories, employees of Ford gm, chry... when the plants closed, they we laid off, alowed to colect state employment benefits, and paid a partial wage so total pay =85% of normal.  people who work for suppliers, dunno.

and yes chrysler is doing it too, they are well ahead of build demand on most models.   GM did it before they were ahead, so some of the cars I ordered for feb 15 still are not built yet.

Honestly?  I do not know how the union's contract with Ford is structured.  Ron would be the person to better answer that question, since he works in that industry.

Not at all strat.  There is plenty of work for Ron and the auto industry workers.  What's happening is that Ford, along with General Motors and probably Chrysler too....they shut down plants for a couple of weeks to save money.

You mean theres no work, and theyre sending you on the "vacation" (thats how they call it here - unpaid, of course)? Damit, that sucks... Theyre doing it here too, tho fortunately, not in my section. Yet. Do you at least get paid for those three weeks?

If this shit goes on, we will all be living in huts by next year...

Morning metal friends! Hope everyone is well today!
Freeze - I LOVE a good chili, yum! I'm growing my own chilis at the moment, hopefully I get lots of nice spicy chilis after my plants flower
MG - it is so worth going to the UK, absolutely wonderful. Paris is amazing too, just the fact it is a pretty dirty city can be a bit of a shock. But the sights to see are fantastic.
I probably should be keeping a closer eye on my toast, my cat is trying to steal it LOL!

I have heard of it but I have not read it. I do not know if it is an "official" biography or not. I should think that, regardless, if there are stories in it that are unflattering to the Band, there still may be some truth to them. Hard to say.

Have a great Sunday Defenders!

By the way, and for something completely different from what's been going on in the thread: Has anyone bought/read Martin Popoff's book on the Priest: "Judas Priest: Heavy Metal Painkillers" ?

There's some stories in there that I don't know whether to believe or not. Any thoughts on this?

Expecting a storm and 40 mph winds!!!!! I am going to cook a pot of chili and watch the tourney! Perhaps there will be a crazed MetalHead or two out there to chat with during the day..? In that situation you have to put the childs needs above your own. Not to say I have never been an ass about it. when it was new I was not adjusting well at all, but now, I feel it is the most natural and healthy thing for her. Heck even me and my X can sit and have dinner together and never get on each other's nerves.
Time heals everything.

That's great that even though you and your daughters father may not get along, you still have good ties with the rest of his family and it's also great your daughter can go there every year to spend time with that side of her family. Sounds like it all works out pretty well.

Yep, and my daughter goes there almost every year. She gets to be with her family there. That is awesome! I wish they would come this way every now and again more often, because, I divorced my husband not his family, and I am still considered by my neice and nephew their aunt. They still love me and the family still loves me. I just couldn't get along with their son, brother whatever.  I still have good ties with the family there.

I was like that when I went to Greece. I could have spent all day taking in the sites of so many monuments, but my husband at the time felt it to be old hat for him. Grow up around it and you don't appreciate it. I took 30 rolls of film while there for 5 weeks. I was very determined to get all I could recorded. I loved being there and the fact I had family there just made it that much sweeter. Got to see a side of the country most don't see.

MG - my husband and I went to the Paris Catacombs earlier this year, very cool! Gotta get there early though as the line is huge, they only allow a certain number of people inside at any one time. Very morbid lol. Here's me at the catacombs lol.

One of the awesomest things we did over in the UK was jump the fence to go to Urquhart Castle (on the shore on Loch Ness) at 10:30pm at night (our tour guide took us LOL so we didn't have to pay the usual 7 pound entry fee haha). It was very eerie and creepy cos the castle had a green light on it and you could hear the water of the Loch below. Just being in a place like that you can feel the history.

LOL I have so many photos of cool historical stuff you can see in the UK and Paris! It's amazing what history there is there.

And people, you rant like hell!

And Maplesyrup that's the patch of killing machine I am looking for yes. I just can't seem to find it on the shops (and it's usually an easy patch to get). Will have to wait some more, but it'll be mine eventually!

I told Scotty Travis if he gets a chance while in Paris to go to the Catacombs, and take some pics.. Rob would like it there as well,, I told then to go to the Cardiff Castle and he went and posted those pics... LOL  very neat tour they take you on..  A lady I worked with in Montana went there, her pictures were awesome.

Heres one from the catacombs in Paris.. its small but all I could find for now

You should try New Orleans.  Everything is above ground since the city is under sea level.  It's very elaborate.

I grew up right across the street from a cemetary. Everyone in the neighborhood used to walk through it. Nice place to walk. I liked to go back to the old grow over section with stones from the mid 1800's. I'm sure they dont seem that old to someone living in Britain. Must have stones dating back to early AD.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Necroticist from Saturday, March 21, 2009 5:02:12 PM)

I suppose you got an education in funeral flowers. LOL I can grow basil in the garden as long as I mark it really well so my father doesn't run over it with the tiller when he weeds the garden.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Necroticist from Saturday, March 21, 2009 4:22:26 PM)

Nope, an Easter Lily is one of those big white suckers. Very rarely grow in gardens without a lot of care and come out...well, on Easter!

Speaking of which, off to chainsaw I go! CYA'lls.

(ps. throw some on my coffin should I fail to return!)
