At least you didn't post Quest For Fire, thats the only stupid shit song on Piece Of Mind but I guess its only a matter of time till you post it since you actually like every single Iron Maiden song there is.
Oh wow, they translated the poem to modern english. Not too hard to do. There's no creation there, only interpretation. Not trying to stomp on you but it's true. That song came from the 1700's and I like it. Some kids would never know literature if not for Bruce. But they did not write it.
You do know that they actually wrote a good chunk of the song don't you? They took exerpts from the Coolridge's poem and used them as lyrics, but a lot of the song was their musical adaptation of the poem. If you don't believe me then look up the poem and then look up the song.

Are you kidding me? Maiden hands down easily by a mile!!! Saxon is great but they could never write a song as epic as the Rime of the Ancient Mariner or pull off a chorus with as much power as the one in Cought Somewhere in Time. I'd also take Maiden's new material, but that's just me :P

Too bad they haven't been able to write anything close to worth a shit like it since.

Maiden of course is timeless, universal, transcendent (my fav probably Die With Your Boots On). What awesome names for metal bands though: Iron Maiden and Saxon. Makes me want to touch myself. (Hope that isn't too crude for the Judas Priest intra net?)
