Oh staunch no way mate! That's shocking news!!

Hey I'll put you up for the night if you want to fly over and see the Melbourne show on the 13th - ASSUMING IT GOES AHEAD.
[staunchsupporter] Thursday, July 31, 2008 2:37:58 AM

Please people spare a thought for us New Zealanders, Priest management have just announced the only Show here on Sept. 7th has been cancelled.

[guidogodoy] Thursday, July 31, 2008 12:01:41 AM
Ah, excellent! I am with you. $5.50 is better than nothing!

Thanks again. I can't wait!

They fed us some fillet mignon with chicken and taters.  They give you two drink tickets and that's all for free, but I was happy when they sold us liquor, beer or hard stuff for 5.50 a drink, but oh well, just as long as they were willing to serve more booze, price really didn't matter.
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 11:24:52 PM
COOL! Thanks. I have VIP in Dallas and have been trying to find out some of the specifics. Let's hope they let us do the same here in the US. Like you, I wouldn't mind missing Testament either to protect the goods. Seen 'em already anyway.

Now for the big question...did they serve BEER at the VIP? At least let you buy some?

Hey there dude,  Yeah after the meet and greet I ran out to my van and stowed away the autographs.  You don't want to risk taking something so valuble into the show itself I understand that fully.  I missed a little bit of Testament, but was glad not to have the burden of holding onto a signed Screaming For Vengeance L.P.  The folks who run the VIP experience, Amanda I believe won't hold onto anything during the show.

[guidogodoy] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 11:11:58 PM
Ok, from what I gather THEY are taking the pictures and only one so don't blink. What about the stuff you had them sign? Have to HOLD it the entire concert or could you run it back to the car?
[T-Dogg] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 10:59:39 PM
Met Judas Priest last night in Saskatoon!!!!!!!!!Had the V.I.P. package and it was freakin' awesome!  We got fed, recieved our laminates, drank some beverages and then were escorted to meet the band backstage prior to the show.  Mr. Metalgod Halford was very nice,  Tipton, Hill and Downing were great to actually meet.   Rob asked were I was from and then the band signed our albums we brought for autographs.  This was more than a dream come true to say the least.  Money just can't buy the chance to meet my idols!!!!!!!!Our photos were posted today and must say that the boys put on one hell of a show.  They open with Nostradamus and then proceed with many of their classics.  I was in complete awe of how Rob can still belt out the tunes and how the band really takes pride in entertaining the crowd.  Hope they come back before hanging it up, cause I'd go again in a heartbeat.        One satisfied Priest fan.
[EriktheRed9] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 9:43:48 PM
Jack Russell  of Great white is a good friend of mine and so is Bobby Blotzer of Ratt.I also know Pat Travers,Jeff Keith,George Lynch and the rest of great White but Judas Priest has been the hardest to meet and they are my favorite band.Nobody has tried harder to do this and i just gave it all i had in Seattle where they just smoked the house down bigtime.Best damn show i've ever seen,no shit. But since i am the gawd damned MoonChild i have lived every lyric word for word, pain for pain that Priest ever put out and i figure they know who i am,it ain't no coincidence.Oh well i tried, what else can i do ?
[guitardude] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 5:10:41 PM
I hope that my butterflies left me back in 1981 when I walked into the lobby of the hotel across from the arena and there stood Rob in all his gear, man what a moment. Now ,again,I hope that I can contain my excitement,I mean hell,....they are just human ,right?...............OMG!!!!!!

Met the PRIEST in Victoria last week...
[windswept] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 7:43:28 AM
good morning,

my meet and greet at nissan is one week away.....  the only thing i have received is an email stating what time to be at the box office.  i seriously have to meditate and center myself every day because i DON'T want to act like that 14 year old girl the first time i heard them.  and now that it is getting closer ~ geez!  i am starting to have dreams about meeting the band.  if you look at my profile, i have a photo of me and ian hill from when i was 19 years old.  it was cool but i really wanted to cry when i looked over and saw rob, kk, and glen walking out to the bus and not even coming close to where they had all of us......  i think i would have spent double the money just to meet halford.  i wish that i could have a photo with halford ( ) alone, to me, that would be worth the 400.00 bucks....  but i also snagged a front row ticket in the deal.  i have never had front row to any seated show!  i have taken photos there before so hopefully i can get some good ones of them on stage...  sorry to ramble on, now i am getting even more excited...
[flusi] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 6:22:31 AM
PS:
Sorry for the many mistakes in the message below. it was the result of fast writing and not checking the text....
For those who have no laminates or so: don´t be afraif of not being let in. We  were asked to go to the ticket counter at the hall and get there a funny piece of paper (like a voucher for a Bratwurst at the Oktoberfest  or ticket of a tram...). Very cheap looking and easy to be thrown away afterwards. However, what I mean is, that even without a laminate you will be able to enter the hall. So, SNAPAD, no sweat, you´ll meet the Priest.Or, rather, a lot of sweat because of the excitement to meet them. Poor Rob...what he had to touch down there at Munich, wet Fans ( cause of the heat.....)etc.
Have a lot of fun
[flusi] Wednesday, July 30, 2008 4:47:06 AM
Hi, I am back from my deserved holidays and I am very excited about your feedbakcs. There were food and drinks????? Where? THAT sounds great. We would´ve needed that in Munich with 30°C. No support like that there. well, it didn´t matter thogh.. when the band came to us, I wouldn´t have be able to drink  because of the excitement.
As I was writing I had the M&G in Munich, 24st of June. Until today, I haven´t received ANY item of the VIP package, means: No T-Shirt, No laminat .....Just two weeks ago, an apology by mail that it is delayed again. So, still waiting and hoping..
In Germany, first they told us not to bring cameras at all, like it is mentioned in the contract. One week before the happening, they wrote us to bring our own cameras..... Well, I preferred that, so at least I could be sure, that the equipement was o.k. And, lucky we´ve been, the photos that that horrible manager took were good, even if it was only one per person.
All in all, to every JP-fan who can afford it: DO IT: IT IS GREAT TO BE SO CLOSE TO THE METAL GODS!
PS:
In Munich, Glen wasn´t bitchy at all. He was really friendly and nice, as the whole band was, like I mentioned in my first message.

Thanks Jeanine, I may still stutter or some other nervous breakdown type thing, but I at least won't be shaking. Lets see; Eight days till Christmas now! I can't wait to unwrap me presents! LOL.
Just to meet them is enough for me. But I can have evil fantasies!

Just tried calling the Superpages.com center in Dallas (GREAT name. Just rolls off the tip of your tongue, eh?). They actually have answering machine that sounds like it was recorded by a 15 year old! "Um, like, sorry...we aren't able to take your call. Please leave your name and question and we'll, uh, try and call you back when we get a minute." AAAAHHHHH!!!!  All I want to know is if I can bring a damn camera!

I think it is all a LiveNation consipiracy. They are trying to annoy people on purpose.
[spapad] Sunday, July 27, 2008 11:47:05 PM

Me!
I hope I don't just freeze, I will kkeep telling myself, over and over, that I will not  freak out!

I may take Flexiril that day! Just So I am not shaking when, I meet them .

PS: Flexiril  is something I got for my back a couple years ago. I only take them when I need them, Which is never now,  but strangely enough they keep me from going into panic mode! They just keep my muscles relaxed! I feel less stress. So yeh, I'll be taking one of those! Not high, just not shaking!

Here's to a steady day at meet and greet!

HELL YES!!! I was really amazed at Jeanine's composure in actually sounding coherent when asking a question. Here would be me:

Guido: "I...um...Mr. Glenn Downing...lifelong fan, I owe my life to you and, um, oh yeah, am guido on JP.com and...do you remember when..."
Rob: "Thanks, do you have a QUESTION?"

Think Chris Farley doing an interview on SNL. That would be me at the meet and greet. I have already decided not to say anything more than "thank you for doing this."

Ya' know, I understand the VIP rules and got the email asking about the t-shirt size but I still gotta say that a week before leaves me a bit unsettled as well. Especially when I saw a VIP tix on eBay that actually SAID VIP as mine doesn't. Just a huge price and row 2.

I am sure it will be fine but still...I am one to sweat the details!

[guidogodoy] Saturday, July 26, 2008 1:21:38 PM
Good to know. In the Pittsburgh venue, there are perfect rules to follow. Exactly as you said, HB. No professional cameras, water, tailgating beforehand (no bottles, be safe), water, etc. Duh...you would think the Dallas folks would have a similar page but NOOO. Just crappy LiveNation's brilliant website that directs you to check with the website of the actual venue WHICH IS THEIR OWN!

Like herding cats.

what i tried to post earlier:

in line in Seattle they told us no cameras, but if you got one in they didn't do anything.

hell, people were taking pictures right in front of event staff and they didn't do a thing.

Hmmm...while I think you are a little harsh on Glenn (hey, we all have our moments), I do appreciate knowing what to expect.

What was the food? Any beer?? Were you able to take whatever you had autographed back to the car? How about pictures with the band? I see that cameras are prohibited (as usual) but I don't see much difference between a camera now and a cellphone that can take pictures. I'd love to take my camera to the Dallas show but not if it will get taken away or get me booted. How does one get a picture at the VIP and NOT bring it into the show?

Curious minds want to know! Anyone else, feel free to chime in!

i just did the meet and greet for vancouver and for victoria bc.  i have mixed feelings about it.  the food was great,  the staff was great but the meet and greet itself was very rushed.  only 1 item to be autographed?  i paid $350 and all i get is 1 item signed?  that sucks to.  i would say that this is an okay meet and greet.  kinda like the one for velvet revolver .  the ozzy meet and greet was $1000 but we got drunk with the band and we got everything signed,  even my gibson zack wylde ed.  les paul.  got both zack and ozzy to sign it and they were happy to do so. all in all,  this is for die hards only.  if your an autograph collector this is not for you.  p.s.  glen threw a HUGE hissy fit at the hotel after the show.  refused to sign my guitar and refused pictures.  i lost alot of respect for him last night.  he is nothing but a baby.  the rest of the guys are class acts all the way.  thanks rob,  ian , kk and scott.    glen,  your nothing but a whinny bitch!

I would be a little disapionted if that's how it went, but their management has a reputation for hurrying fans along.
I am no back stage girl.  I just want to meet my icons of metal.
I hope It will be a good experience. With the guys I'm sure that will be fine, with the management , i expect more of the same.

Niiiice!!!

For anyone else going VIP Platinum before the Dallas show, please post. Especially the answers to the supposed "trivia questions" that they said they would be asking. Oh yeah, and if there is free beer and food!
[flusi] Friday, July 11, 2008 12:11:01 AM
Hi there,
the package was 128USD! (as far as I remember, since it was in München, I payed in €. 98 of them..).
But really, I don´t want to speak badly about it in general. As I said, Rob and the rest of the lads were really great.
I just hope, if this guy ( manager or whatever he is) goes on like that, that the people will also complain about HIM.
And it still was worth all the money we payed. That ,however, depends what your willing to pay for an happening like that. I am quite sure, that if it hadn´t been my favoured band, I wouldn´t have paid so much money to see them. It was like fulfilling a dream! Ok, actually it really was. Great.
So every body who dreamed of been so close to them, even if it´s only 10min, DO IT! Forget the money! Money  you can get again, but the chance of standing in the middle of the Metal gods is what you aren´t likely to have that many  times again.

Thank You for that info. When i saw the meet and greet package option i didnot go for it for that reason.
plus i would either melt on the spot or irritate everyone by trying to sing with rob. I just wanna do one scream with rob.
So now i am 10th ro center and i believe i will have several screams with rob along with allof the fans. i hope to get eye contact.

Hey there,
did anyone booked the Meet and Greet package and if so, how/what  was your experience?
Me and my brother booked it and were there in Munich, 24.06.08. It was a short, but great experience . Well, most of it.
The Band itself was very great, nice and patient.  All in all seven people booked that package and were there. They ( the Band) were chatting with us (a little) and signed CD´s as well as various T-shirts. They even would´ve spend more time (this was my impression), if not their manager - or whoever this olderly guy was- would´ve stressed everybody around. Faster here, faster there, shouting at the fans to expedite and it was him who took ONE picture of me and the band  with my camera. So I was really lucky, that the picture was a good one (sharp etc.) . Really, if this manager would not have been there, it would´ve been much more exciting for us.
Just to make that clear again:
Judas Priest, the Band members, very very nice and patient and friendly and unstressed. My impression was, that they even would´ve stayed another five minutes or so to take their time for us fans (for pictures and singaturesor whatever ). However, the manager guy ended the session (which took place in the  stairway of the hall!) after 10-15 min of shouting and pushing us around!
Nevertheless it was an very exciting experience to be so close to my favourite band, I ever dreamed of this thing to happen. AND IT DID! WOW!
PS: And since I am too bloody stupid to upload a picture, you fail to see me in the middle of Rob, K.K., Glen and Ian! Sad for you ;-)
