Agreed.
I think I like K.E.'s version because they don't try to copy Dio.
Their singer (?) screams parts and sings parts and they heavy it up a bit. You know
you're listening to a Dio song but it sounds like a Killswitch Engage song if that makes sense.
I think them trying to do a copy would have been laughable. I said I would spare you guys
the videos but I'll post Holy Diver.
@ anyone
Has anyone here heard of James Rivera's Sabbath Judas Sabbath (tribute)?
It's coming to Pittsburgh on Saturday and I was considering going. I'll check Youtube
for videos but if the quality is poor it would be hard to gauge just how good they may be.
The problem for me is do I go to Pittsburgh for that or do I go to Cleveland that night for
Mushroomhead (oldschool show)(w/ former members)? You guys don't have to
answer that part of the question, I know what the overwhelming response would be.(lol)
This really is a tough one for me. Peace all. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Thursday, August 16, 2012 7:48:05 PM)

I got some footage at the end of that video but I should have filmed a song of nothing but that pit.

@ Coyotebongwater.
I'm not looking to argue a point but you made a comment a couple of weeks back that I still think about.
If you respond I have no intentions of a back and forth, I'm just curious as to your reasoning. A few here have
criticized what I listen to and I'm OK with that. (I kind of expect it sometimes). Anyway, Five Finger Death Punch,
what makes them a sellout to you? They are my favorite (current) band out there and I'm a little confused as to
why they would be considered a sellout to some.
I'd give reasons why I think they're (not) a sellout but that would be starting a back and forth already.
Looking forward to hearing your opinion. Peace.

I'm not really a fan of these guys but I'm glad I got this song at ROTR.

Volbeat are awesome man. They are from Denmark and are huge over in Europe. Kind of like rock n roll with a heavy metal twist. Anselmo is one of the best vocalists in metal I think.

Some of the other bands weren't bad. I never heard Volbeat before. They were good. I'll post a few

Rob Zombie "Living Dead Girl" He had a killer stage show. His voice was a little off at times but overall as a band

First part of the answer is no, I don't have any idea about when YouTube started putting stats on their page as I don't post vids there.
Now, to answer the question about how someone could learn about Mauritius from Looney Tunes? Easy!
Like any good household, I grew up with a full set of encyclopedias at hand. Looney Tunes made an old black and white short, if you recall, where Porky tries to get the last of the Dodo birds. Well, that was enough for me to look them up. Would that we had Wiki as you'll see that they were flightless birds native to Mauritius that had no natural enemies until the arrival of Man.
-----
Wiki: "The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) was a flightless birdendemic to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. It stood about a metre (3.3 feet) tall, weighing about 20 kilograms (44 lb). The species lost the ability to fly because food on Mauritius was abundant and mammalian predators were absent."
-----
Looney tunes made at least two versions of the animated short as it was so popular. They were both known to be extremely surrealistic (down to the melting Salvador Dalí melting clocks and eyeball if you watch closely in vid #2). I'll skip the intro (but you can see the whole vid if you look for "Porky in Wackyworld" to get to the best part of the vid that most old folks remember (1938 version):
Now, look at the Merrie Melodies color version (actually renamed "Dough for the Do-Do) and watch where Porky flies his plane. Off the continent of Africa and makes a sweeping right bank into what would, naturally, be an island off the southern tip of Africa in the Indian Ocean. It is Mauritius. Now don't tell me cartoons aren't educational!
I don't use any blockers. I do such a small amount as far as surfing or whatever.
The majority of what I do is here, MRH (alot less than here), Comcast news, Youtube,
sports news, bandsites, concert news, and very rarely facebook so I never cared who
tracked me. I recently started getting alot of spam emails from companies I would never
buy from. I wish I could stop that. Otherwise, track me, I don't give a f#ck. As far as the
numbers(youtube) not being accurate, I didn't think about it because I just found it two days ago.
I still haven't checked everything they keep stats of. I do find it interesting though. Do you know
if this is something new to Youtube or have they always had the stat button? I like Youtube.
I'm glad they give total views on videos you post. I only put them up hoping people want to see them.
The numbers tell me they do. I don't feel like I'm wasting my time by posting them. My numbers
are low compared to some but people are watching them. I have 107 videos up with about
80,000 views between them. One of my Red Fang videos has around 25,000 views by itself.
Some from that other band I like have as many as 5000 views. Most everything else is in the hundreds
or low thousands.
Can't wait to here the answer to that question of your's. I used to love Looney Tunes cartoons.

Now then, as my one day ban has been lifted about Mauritius, a good question for the riddle section would be: how did I know where that island was because of a Looney Tunes cartoon?
I'd be impressed if ANYONE can get that without cheating. it is the truth, though. Was done once in black in white and was so popular it was released again in color.

Anyone who was ever a HUGE fan of old Looney Tunes should actually know the answer (I won't spoil it but that why I even knew where it was as a kid).
As for Brazil and MRH, I'll be heading down again later this summer. They do still have record stores there even though the black market on the streets eat up most of the profit from the popular bands. Sadly, I have never seen Priest on the streets much less MRH. (Not so sure about your theory about MRH, IOW).

Just a useless fact I felt like sharing.
I was checking my youtube page when I noticed a button for stats.
I have no idea if it's new or not because I've never used it but anyway,
I saw one stat that listed countries that my most views come from.
U.S. was number one and at number two was Brazil.
(I think because of MRH)

I guess I just like mentioning those guys.
That stat button on my youtube page is pretty cool. I was just checking it out, One of
the stats is how many different countries viewed my videos in the last 30 days. So far, 87.
Some of them I've never heard of and some I didn't expect. 17 views come from some unknown
origins. It must be a tribe in the jungle some where with a laptop checking out my MRH videos. (kidding)
Anyway, here's a question for all. (...except Guido, he's banned for at least one day for knowing everything.) ()
Where is Mauritius located?
General geographical location. ( mideast....etc. next to...)

The comment was left for a Lody Kong video. I know the singer / guitar player is related to Max Cavalera.
Max played in Sepultura and I thought they / he were from Brazil. I get a lot of comments from there on my MRH
videos and the writing looked similar to those so I just assumed that's where the comment was from. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Wednesday, April 25, 2012 11:17:48 PM)

Uhhhh...sure they are from Brazil? That is Spanish, not Portuguese.
The "jaja" you've seen me post here a thousand times. It is Spanish for "Ha Ha." "Son" is plural = THEY are (not speaking about one person who, btw, has made a comment about someone who knows the Spanish word for "skull" = calavera). Only word that remains undefined is "una mazal." Depends on the context and I'd need more than part of a sentence to understand what they mean.
Could be a BUNCH of things. I guess I'd have to know the group better. Why not ask the writer: "¿Qué es una mazal?"

Of course I can't read it so I was hoping someone would clue me in.
jaja son una mazal !!
...they are referring to Igor Cavalera (relative of Max, maybe son or nephew, not sure)

I saw one of the worst bands Sunday night. (No, not Mushroomhead)(LOL)
Soulfly was badass, I liked the two bands (Incite / Lody Kong) that played before them but the band
before those two (Wyckked Wytch) sucked ass.Supposed Death Metal or something. Some chick
with this low gutteral kind of scream or growl or whatever the f#ck it was. Their drummer was phenomenal,
they had good guitar players but that chick. AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She sucked. (IMO) The two openers
were Pittsburgh bands (Storm King and Stinkpalm Death) and they were pretty good also.
Great show (IMO)(LOL), but that chick. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll search youtube for a video just
so you guys can laugh. (Yeah it's worse than the stuff I listen to.)
Next up...May 17th
Mushroomhead
w/ Hed (p.e.) and American Head Charge.

Nothing is a little more hardcore. Both bands are quite a bit different than MRH.
This is "Eyes Of The Righteous" and "Sin 'O Cism" [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Thursday, April 19, 2012 2:45:05 AM)

Huh. While interesting and I am glad that you are in a location that allows you to see so many bands, I cannot help but say that I don't know if I'd pay to see too many of them. Rob Zombie (perhaps), Anthrax (I have seen a bunch of times and never thought that they were more than a warmup / over-hyped cover band...Scott Ian playing this one?), Megadeth (I have seen numerous times and can't say that I like their / his? new material...after all, one man show), Motorhead (again, seen countless times...always solid and good) and Slayer (again, seen countless times and they don't inspire me). Certainly nothing new.
The rest? Well, glad that you want and are able to see them. Call me old. We'll leave it at that. Were they in my backyard, my opinion might change. No matter what, I still await your reviews. Cheers. (Quoting Message by Budred from Monday, April 16, 2012 6:22:02 PM)

4/17 Nothing and Tenafly Viper (both MRH vocalists fronting their own bands) (Cleveland)
4/22 Soulfly (Pittsburgh)
5/17 Mushroomhead (Pittsburgh)
5/20 Rock on the Range (Columbus) (only going one day this year)
Rob Zombie / Marilyn Manson / Megadeth / Anthrax / Mastodon / Volbeat / The Darkness (time to hit concession stand)
Down / Escape The Fate / Lacuna Coil / Black Stone Cherry / Attack Attack / Trivium / Redlight King / James Durbin /
Aranda / 12 Stones / Soil / Eye To Adam / Ghosts Of August
7/ 28 Mayhem Festival (Burgettstown, Pa.)
Slipknot / Slayer / Anthrax / Motorhead / Whitechapel / As I Lay Dying (others)
....these are what I have tickets for. I'll probably get to about three or four more so it should still be a cool summer. Now I just hope
Five Finger Death Punch comes around. I love their new album and I thought they kicked ass the last time I saw them so I'm
thinking they will be the band to see this summer. What sucks is that they are at Rock on the Range on Saturday but the rest of the
line-up is so weak I'm passing.
@Vail ...I'm not expecting change I just needed to chill. (more positive posts)(hopefully)(LOL)

Tenafly Viper is a little more straightforward metal. This one's a little slow but I like it.
It's called "Man On A Corner". [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Thursday, April 19, 2012 2:45:05 AM)
