Same. I was a VERY late adopter of the CD.
I still get laughs when I say that I ran to "the first side of album X." Quite sad that "recordings" don't have "sides" anymore. There was a true art to picking the first / last songs of both sides.

I can't wait to hear the debut from "Newsted". I saw them @ Gigantour last week and thought they kicked ass. Some of their stuff reminded me of early Metallica. They were selling a signed EP at the show but I already bought the new Megadeth and later when I decided to buy it it was sold out. (my luck) Last friday at "Mayhem Festival" I saw a couple of bands that I thought were really good live that I didn't care to see and only watched becaused nothing else was going on. I was only expecting to like Rob Zombie/5 Finger Death Punch on the main stage and Machine Head on the side stages but got a few surprises instead. First surprise was Mastodon. I saw them before but didn't care for them. I thought they rocked out at Mayhem. Another surprise was Children Of Bodom. I listened to them before and I thoughtI didn't like them but they were great live. I love their guitar work. Great guitar players. Lastly Amon Amarth. Never cared for so called "Viking Metal" or whatever you want to call it but they were badass. Great guitar work and I didn't mind the vocals and of course the giant viking ship was cool. I'll post a pic. Motionless in White wasn't bad but I'm still not sure I like them. Friday's concert put over 250 shows I've been to and over 400 different bands I've seen live. ...and I'm supposed to be slowing down. (lol)

Yeah, I'll give you that Dr. F. was ok, I bought the cassette on day one but only have songs from "Shout at the Devil" and "Too Fast for Love" on my ipod. In that order! Couple of good raw songs on Too Fast but the big breakthrough was Shout. Had the videos to match and, to boot, that was the very first CD I EVER bought (broke my cherry from the LP, IOW).
Yes, I still have a working turntable, still buy and play LPs but that is the honest truth. "Shout at the Devil" was my first CD EVER.

I was going to argue the point with you just for the sake of it and i got my ipod out just to look at the songs and i realized that you are right. my only disagreement would be that "Dr. Feelgood" is good also and I can find 3 or 4 songs that at worst are listenable but basically I agree. One reason that I'm glad you brought it up is that when I checked my ipod I didn't have "Dr. ..." on there. I need to correct that. Just watched Crue "Behind the Music." I don't care. Dr. Feelgood SUCKED! "Kickstart my Heart" was the only track that was decent and it had a lot to do with the video. HATE when it slows down (3:00 minute mark) - sounds childish. Had a good riff and Mick delivers otherwise,

I went to "Gigantour 2013" yesterday.
Newsted was probably my most pleasant surprise of the night. Reminded me of listening to early Metallica and he capped it of with "Whiplash".
I really wanted to see Hellyeah but I was a little disappointed. Good but a little noisy sounding.
Device wasn't very good. They need to get a bass player, not understanding why they don't have one. It would help complete their sound and make them sound better.
Black Label Society kicked major ass. I've seen these guys 7 times now and everytime I see them I forget just how heavy they are.
Megadeth blows me away. I realize they're not all original but these guys sound as good or better than they ever have and they still put out great music.
Can't help but give Dave props for longevity and quality which to me is rare.
Tomorrow night it's Mayhem!

I cant wait to witness your disappointment......The lp will be for fans of old Priest not just 1990 era.

Got to Great falls an hour ago, so of course I am back on. HRMG, its got to be higher on your list. cant believe its been over 20 years since I went. we dont get to yellowstone till wednesday, tomorow we get to take my teenage girl shopping. oh the joy.

The hell? I logged on here this morning (about 10 AM) and checked all messages (well mostly just skipping through all of the "this message is from a user you have ignored" stuff). I come back here just before I hit the bed (1:30 AM), and there's 211 new messages! Two hundred and eleven posts in 21 and a half hours! And about 195 of them are by Trixi!
Trixi, if you're still reading these, that's one of the main reasons people dislike you: you post way too much. Many of your posts are double- or triple-posts where you first post a photo, then create a new post for a caption to that photo, and maybe even make a third post to tell Boogers to check that out. And then repeat this process over and over again. Same with videos. If you could just combine all of these elements into one post, it'd make reading the forums so much easier. I seriously doubt that you are in such a "fan rush" that you cannot think what you post for more than one second. Perhaps by simply reducing the amount of posts you make, people would be nicer to you and remove you from their ignore lists. But first you need to change.

Also, it's funny you guys are mentioning lightning bugs. My wife and I look forward to them coming out every summer.
Becks, I'm surprised you never saw one. My wife and I were talking about them a few days ago and were wondering how
much of the country or other parts of the world have them. Probably the only bug that I think is cool.

If it's the flash it's an even funnier thought because of how you see one flash in one spot and then a second later one flashes in a different spot.
I can visualize him going crazy trying to get to the flashes.
